Christmas Countdown - 2015

First working Friday of the new year. I'm happy it's here! Looking forward to the first (non-holiday) weekend of the new year. Next week is shaping up to be busy.



We're back into the toasty 20s this morning, but the wind chills are in the lower teens. We're getting a couple hours of snow this morning, just an inch or two. It was just starting as I drove to work, and it'll stop long before it's time to go home, so it'll be safe.



Weekend plans, anyone? I will probably take down my outside lights (one tree's worth this year) if the cold weather permits. And I'm hoping for some sofa-and-video time.

Toasty 20s?! Better break out the shorts and t-shirts.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's a little bit warmer here today where we currently stand at 8 degree's. Unfortunately that is also going to be the high as we are supposed to fall through out the rest of the day until we get back to the -10 range overnight. Boo!!!!!! I have some work on the computer to do today and then have some cleaning to do. I'm feeling pretty good this morning thankfully. Not quite back to 100% but close enough. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Well it stayed cold all day yesterday and we remained well below freezing.
Should moderate a bit today, as warmer air slowly re-establishes itself here in the south.
For now, we have started off at a "warm" 31 degrees.

Good morning, friends! How are you all doing? We're currently sitting at 19F, with a wind chill of 1F. The kids had another 2 hour delay today. It probably snow 2-3 inches over night.

Not much going on today. I was busy yesterday and since the Epiphany, I haven't had much time to take down my Christmas decorations, so I guess I'll start that today. I'll be leaving anything that is snowman or wintery oriented though until spring time rolls around!

It was delicious! I haven't had plain ol fresh sausage for a long time! I don't know that we even got an inch of snow? It was blowing so hard last night. The wind was whipping around the house ~ sounded like Santa & his reindeer were landing on our roof. LOL! Hope you are feeling 100% better today!!! Have a great day!

We didn't get much snow either but like there, the wind was crazy!!!

[Holiday]

Good evening everyone!
Just popping in quick to say hello. Busy day here. I was at the preschool all morning, then I ran a few errands and worked on daily chores afterward. My mom stopped by for a visit and then I took my daughter to the oral surgeon this afternoon. I was there longer than I expected. Good news is he said there's no rush to have her wisdom teeth taken out, unless they are bothering her. So we'll probably wait and schedule it over the summer when there's no school. Just finished watching American Idol. I missed it yesterday, didn't realize it started this week. I don't watch too much tv but I enjoy this every year. I'm kind of beat so I'm going to turn in. I hope everyone is well, cozy & warm. See you in the morning. Hugs and prayers ~

When I went out to warm up my car this morning, my fingers stuck to the door knob when I closed the front door. It was frigid here too.

Twice baked potatoes sound scrumptious, I haven't had those in years.

I found a recipe for make-ahead & freeze twice baked taters. So I make a bunch, freeze them, & then when you're ready to eat them, pop them in the oven & wah lah!

Hubby has the day off work today & he's leaving early in the morning tomorrow to drive to his Great Aunt's funeral 2 hours away, so he won't want to be out too late tonight! Have a great day!

Thin crust, well done, where the cheese is turning a slight golden brown on top. For the toppings - I like everything except for anchovies..... I'm especially fond of one baked in a Brick oven~ YUM -Yum!!!!!

We are already to the second Weekend Eve of 2015.
Moving along briskly we are, to the first Milestone of the new year.

Days to the Season: 308
Days to Christmas Day: 350

In fact, that first 'stone arrives ONE WEEK from tomorrow.
Then, a 200's level Season count begins.
(Yes, that soon!)

We don't have many plans, other than my hubby going to the funeral tomorrow - that will take up most of his day. I'm not sure what I'll do while he's gone. Maybe hang with Gracie! Tomorrow is our friends birthday - he called Jim & said they would like to go out to eat w/ us tomorrow night, so if Jim is home in time & wants to go out, I'm sure we'll join them for some birthday celebration! This is our electrician friend, so we owe him a birthday dinner for sure!

I am doing good with my new year's resolution(s) which were to just eat and love healthy and manage my type 1 diabetes which I was diagnosed with a few years ago...so far I am doing good, and I feel great. Still have all my Christmas stuff up inside and a lot of folks do on our street.

Now the weather has been so nice this week out west, but cold in the upper Midwest and east, and to tell you the truth I thought it was suppose to be like that all winter, so it has come to my surprise that almost everyone in the US at least was so warm in December, it just goes to show that mother nature is going to do what she wants! We had a very cold November compared to average and December was one of our warmest ever!! we have a chance of rain,snow mixed over the weekend the last time I looked yesterday, it would be a great weekend to snowboard which I have only done 2 this year!! have a great morning everyone! the weekend is almost here!

We had a very cold November compared to average and December was one of our warmest ever!! we have a chance of rain,snow mixed over the weekend the last time I looked yesterday, it would be a great weekend to snowboard which I have only done 2 this year!! have a great morning everyone! the weekend is almost here!

Don't you just love leaving work on a Friday! Great that you can have an early finish too. I hope Jim has a safe trip and the funeral passes well, sorry for your loss.

Much of December has been very mild for us too with the odd few freezing days. We are getting the freezing whether now though. Our Jan/Feb months are usually brutal. No snow yet just hail,sleet,gales. Enjoy your weekend and have fun snowboarding. Be safe.

The weather has been weird. We had such a cold November we thought we were in for a doozie from Nov - April again! Then December was so mild...and now we have these extreme cold temps again in January! I guess we'll just wait to see what else mother nature has in mind for us! Have a great day! Thanks sugar - it is actually my MIL's aunt, my hubby's great aunt. She was 99 years old ~ lived a good long life! Sweet lady! She was a sister (a Nun). She has a place in heaven for sure! :smile:
