Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good morning again! I just looked and we are now at 24F but as soon as the sun rises that will go up, I think our high today is 39F, and I think it's sunshine, but to tell you the truth I have to look at the forecast multiple times because I follow the weather everywhere I have a brother or sister so that is Mississippi, texas, Oregon and California, and of course the southeast because I still like to keep up with the ski resorts in the blue ridge and smoky mountains in the southeast. So after I have like 100 different forecasts in my mind I forget what ours is, but I think it's sunny with 39F today and no snow for the next 10 days, but still nice lows in the upper 20's and highs in the 40's. I hope the cold has eased up for the Midwestern and east coast folks, yall have had it rough with the cold and now ice! Be careful on your way to work this morning. I have to go wash the breakfast dishes! ttyl!

Well, I did it! I took my main tree & all my Christmas things down last night! :sad: The only thing left is the tree in the sunroom, which I'm thinking about adding some blue lights to the clear lights already on it, along with some blue/silver bulbs & snowmen ornaments. I'll see once! Hubby rolled his eyes. :lol: I did get my snowmen out & put them around the house. I have a few more bigger snowmen to get out yet. Sometimes I put some clear or clear & blue lights with the snowmen, but I haven't done that yet. I already miss having the lights in the house! Ah well - in a way, it's nice to have it done.



Tonight we are taking my friend Missy out for her birthday, starting with going out to eat Mexican! Mmmmm!

That milestone is closing in quite quickly! Great to see that it will be celebrated on a Saturday. Extra special weekend celebration!



Good morning, everyone. I'm off today. I was off Tuesday, too, this week, but I wasn't allowed to work that day. We had a few things that had to be done around the house. Surprisingly, I haven't received one call for today. Usually, I get a few calls from schools that are too far away. I already have work for tomorrow, but I am hoping more calls come for next week, too!



I hope you all have had a wonderful week thus far. We are nearly at the mid-point of the first month of the year. Sounds fantastic! I don't have a whole lot happening right now. I have some chores around the house to do today. Otherwise, I will be looking forward to tomorrow, when I will be going on my first high school field trip. I have become decent friends with the Auto Shop teacher at school. I am usually in for him if he - ever - misses a day. It is rare.



A parent had initially volunteered to chaperone the trip, but pulled out late last week. I said that I would be willing to go on Monday, and sure enough, they put me in so I will be getting paid to go tomorrow. We're going to an Auto Show in Montreal. The only real unfortunate part is that we are spending four hours on a bus. Two hours there, two hours to come back. We only get to see the show for two hours. Apparently, the kids really enjoy it, however. That's all that matters. It should be fun!



Well, I think I should get a few things done. Hopefully I will have some time to check out a few posts throughout the day here. I hope everyone has a great Thursday! The weekend is nearly here!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I left work early yesterday. My brother-in-law called to invite me and Jacob hunting. Since it was the last day of the season, I got Jacob out of school and took Keith up on his offer. We had a great time, but it was so cold I almost froze my ornaments off!

Our tree is still up! I bet I'm the last holdout on MMC!

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's going to be a warmer day here with a high of 34 degree's!! A high above freezing!!! Woohoo!!! Not to much going on here today. I may run to the grocery store for a few things. It looks like Meijer is having a pretty good 2 day sale too so I will probably go tomorrow also. I would just wait and go tomorrow but I know they will run out half of the regular ad stuff by then. I'm also waiting to hear back from my sister in seattle. My BIL there was involved in a hit and run this morning. It sounds like a truck was coming up the on ramp to the interstate and didn't pay attention as he merged over and side swiped my BIL. The guy didn't stop but my BIL chased him long enough to call the cops and give them his license plate number before he pulled over. Thankfully he wasn't hurt. It sounds like the mini van is pretty bad off though. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

One of our favorite places to visit when we're in Maryland is a used book store with about half a million books! Every time we visit there we have to ship home a big box of books. Paperbacks, hardcovers, vintage, collectibles---they have them all. It's an awesome place to spend a couple hours.



We have an entire wall of books in our front room. Most of the shelves are getting to be two books deep! Seems like I used to have more time for reading, but these days it's grabbing an odd ten or fifteen minutes of reading during breakfast or before bed. I usually read while I eat lunch at work, too.

That bookstore sounds amazing!

I wish I had more time for reading, too.
And the winter is a perfect time to get cozy & use the imagination!

My mum would then have to find homes for them or we ended up keeping them because I got attached Funny cause after a while people started bringing animals to us that they found....we were like a mini shelter/hospital LOL

Still not sure if the secretary lady will be taking the kitty cat. She's still working on her husband. And it kind of aggravates me to know that he really doesn't want the cat.
I would keep her, what's one more at this point. It's just that the vet bills are so expensive. We'll see. I'll keep you posted.

Reading about those of you with bugs and other ills made my system jealous, I guess. I didn't feel too well yesterday and was able to leave work about 3 p.m., and I stayed home from work this morning because I didn't really feel any better. Very run-down. Hopefully it's just a passing bug. I'll take it easy today and jump back into the grind tomorrow.

Cabin fever ! Really needed to get out fir awhile and son wanted to pick up sone stuff. So I drive him around and stay in van while he goes in to stores.

It is a lovely sunny day and good to get out if the house !
My ankle is still sore but slowly getting better . It is going to be awhile.. It hurts more when I get up in morning than at end of day, maybe I should sleep in recliner ?

Must be the the night for no sleep. I didn't get much either & I need at least 8 hours. I got less than 7, so it'll be a long day. I plan to get some caffeine at lunch.



DD has drum lessons tonight, so I'll have an hour to get everything straighten up before DD & DH get home.

That is awful!! Thank goodness your BIL wasn't hurt! I am pleased to hear he was able to pass on that guys number to the police , hope they caught up with him.

Last week someone almost ran into Mr Festive. They were busy talking on their mobile. it was pretty close and by the grace of God nothing happened. I was so angry. The person never stopped to see if he was ok or to apologise.
