Ouch! That is a tough one to swallow. I am sure they were showing Belichick's smug face talking about what a genius he is at the end of the game.

Between him and Brady alone, gives me all the reason in the world not to even watch the superbowl at all, except maybe, to hope that Seattle pulls off a miracle and beats the living snot out of the patriots!!!!

Hey guys, pretty gloomy kind of a day for me, I took down and packed away, the last of the Christmas lights today. It always bums me out to do that and then I came in the house to watch Green Bay blow the game...

Then the wife discovered a leak in my daughters shower, trying to find the source of a mildew smell coming from the shower. So, what does she do, she removes a piece of the molding, and brings it outside to me and asks, " what is this black stuff behind the molding"? Ummmm, like mold....I said lets call a contractor to fix it and I get this look, you know the look, (if your a married man).

So, off I go, get lots of tools from the garage, my drill, buckets, etc...and head upstairs to the bathroom. And so, upon further investigation, I ended up tearing out the shower door and frame, removing 2 courses of tile and the concrete backer board behind it and drilling out the gasket and removing the shower pan; it was mold behind it and underneath the pan.

Good news is, the sub-flooring looks so far to be ok. The cause of the leak was that whoever installed the shower door and frame, never used any silicone caulk on the inside of the frame, at the lower corner/ 90 degree, and every time someone used the shower it would leak. It had to of have been that way since it was installed 11 years ago.

I'm going to have to tear all the rest of the tile out and the remaining backer board. It looks like it will have to be a full blown renovation in that bathroom, you know how it is, once you touch it, it's like a domino effect, you have to do it all.....

And, I was sooo busy, I forgot to eat dinner, so I settled for a bag of Kettle Chips and some nuts.....

Ok, that's my rambling....

That sucks. All because someone didn't use a $1 worth of caulking and spend that one extra minute on the job. I hope you can get it all done quickly and don't find anymore surprises along the way!!!!

Goodnight, Xmastidings!!!!

Good Night folks, I'm beat! Being going at it all day today, I haven't stopped since 10 am this morning and the pillow is calling me........

That is never a fun thing to find, I hope you find no more mold.

I hope that is what happens.

Good evening everyone!
Busy day, just wanted to say hello and wish everyone a good night. I still didn't name the cat, I've been calling her Kitty all weekend and I kind of like that, lol. I don't know, I'll decide soon. I let her explore the house for a little while today, she made herself right at home. Bella, Bentley & Sophia were all hissing if she got too close but they'll get use to her in a few days. I wanted to share a couple of pictures but I'm having trouble with Tapatalk again. I'll see if I can figure out the problem tomorrow. I hope everyone is well and had a nice weekend. Goodnight & sweet dreams! [emoji170]

I am getting ready to turn in for the night, watching one of my favorite shows from about a decade ago, MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) this show always made me laugh. I got the DVD right after Christmas for a good price.

I hope you all enjoyed your day, even if your team's didn't do too well.

Goodnight, everyone.

You are so right about DIY and the domino effect. What starts as a tiny job can lead into various other things! I hope you can finish the work on it soon. Atleast when it's all done you will feel really good that it is all sorted.
