20 degrees & icy. Power has been out for around 19 hours because of ice on lines. No electric, phone, cable. We didn't go to work yesterday because there were trees down on both ends of our road. Today we can get out one end of the road, so it's back to work. School is out the rest of the week. It's supposed to get down to single digits the next two nights.
A tree fell on our garage in the middle of the night Mon/Tues, but everything seems to be okay. DH had to cut the tree down to be able to get out of his side of the garage. Heating water on wood stove to get a bath. Cooking on propane stove on the back deck. Living like Laura Ingalls; DD wanted to know what was so good about the good old days...DH & I agreed with her! We are glad to have a wood stove though! DD & I were in bed by 7:30 last night because there was nothing to do & it was dark.
Update on Grandmother: She's still in the hospital, don't know when she'll get to go home. This is something that will never totally go away. She is doing better physically through. There was no infection in her kidney when they changed the stint, so they are just monitoring the bowel obstruction. The doctors just walk in everyday & shake their heads that she's still plugging away! She'll be 91 in less than two weeks. At this rate, she might make it to 100...
I hope you get electricity back soon!!!! Glad that nothing got damaged by the falling tree. Stay safe!!
Continuing to keep your grandmother in my prayers.
