Christmas Countdown - 2015

Merry Wednesday and Happy Pines Day all. I am just checking in to say hello and that I am thinking of you all.

So sorry I can't keep up with posts. Life is hectic. How on earth we are half way through March ?? Easter is almost here! Next week I will be spring cleaning and getting ready for Easter. I need to organise the easter morning egg hunt for the kids.

Spring is trying it's best to get here I think but we are still freezing cold. Cold blast from Russia these days. I am really loving the brighter mornings and evenings - love this time of year!

Ok well , I hope things are going well for you all. Holiday I am so sorry to hear about your father.

it is not about how many times you post that counts, just that you come and visit from time to time. I do not have much time to come here either, but love to do quick read troughs and post when able. Often it it just a quick good morning.

Hey guys! WOW It has been awhile! And I really have missed you all and our fun conversations!
My heart is heavy and sad to report my dad passed away at 4:00 AM on Sunday night/Monday morning! 3/16/15 - honestly I still can't believe it's true! Still waiting to wake up and it's a dream! His viewing is tomorrow and his viewing/services are Thursday morning! We had family and friends over here tonight – and you would not believe the amount of food we had on our island! We could eat for two weeks! The gathering tonight was supposed to be just my family but friends kept showing up with food and gifts/memorials – they are awesome and crazy! I'm exhausted and I'm getting a terrible cold! But we will keep trucking along! My mom is such a trooper – we will lead by her example!

Happy Pines Day!
Just had the dogs out back, it's so chilly. We're not supposed to get out of the 30's the next few days and we're even expecting some snow on Friday. Not too much going on for me today, typical day of errands and chores. Rosie also has a veterinarian appointment this afternoon, just a routine kitten visit. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

And we all know what that means.
But we will get to that momentarily.

First:
Days to the Season: 240
Days to Christmas Day: 282

And now we find ourselves down to a week and a day before the arrival of 2015 Milestone number five, the 1/4 marker to Christmas Day.
(That's right -- a week from tomorrow!)


Really warm yesterday and our thermometer recorded figures well into the EIGHTIES!
Cooler today, which is good because we really don't need it that warm in mid-March.
Today has commenced at 44 degrees, here.


Well, St. Patrick's Day was yesterday but Carl doesn't seem to care.
Green. LOTS of it, at the 'Pines.
And the fired twinkies? Not green-frosted. Rather they are ENTIRELY green.
(Must have been lots of left over food coloring from yesterday!)
Well, let's go.
But just in case Carl still feels it's St. Patrick's Day, I suggest you wear green.
(You haven't lived until you've been pinched by a camel!)

Turkey Taco's....Yum!!! Sounds like your being a very good boy with your eating plan.... Mt, I cannot say that I was, I was a very, very, very, bad boy tonight....

A man I am still feeling it. I feel like that hamburger that I ate 5 hours ago, is sitting in my stomach, like a brick....:-?

I had a big feed last night, too. We had huge, thick boneless pork chops with mashed potatoes and carrots. I finished up my pork chop but Mr. couldn't get through his. Made me think of Burns and Allen:

George: A little girl like you, you couldn't eat two big lamb chops by yourself, could you?
Gracie: No, but with potatoes I could!

I agree! I always feel the quality of the posts we see here means so much more than mere quantity. I don't come here because of the number of posts in a day, but because of the kind, thoughtful, and humorous posts I know I'll see here!
