TGIF, my Christmas friends, and Happy Halfway to the Christmas Season!!

We were out late last night with Elizabeth's upcoming recital practice, then she had several hours of homework to do. Bless her heart, she was up till after 2am getting that done. Still, today is the last day of school, so she and Jacob are relieved.

She has the dress rehearsal tonight, then the show tomorrow.

She's also applying to be an extra in a movie being filmed locally. The boy who played the kid in "The Legend of Bagger Vance", Michael Moncrief, grew up just a couple miles from our house, and he's planning to film a movie in our area. We don't know a lot about the movie, though, and we want to make sure it's appropriate for her to be in. There was a meeting last night, but we were at rehearsals. Nancy's sister went to get the info, so we'll see.

Good morning MMC! Happy, HAPPY Friday!!! I'm not sure how the rest of this morning is going to go, so I'm going to jump in here to say :hi: & then I'll try to catch up on last nights posts!

We got 17 tomatoes & 17 peppers planted last night! So excited that is done! As I'm sitting on my hiney on the ground in the garden digging these holes thinking this is a lot of work... I look over at my uncle in the garden next to ours (he is 94 1/2 years old) down on all fours (his hands & knees) digging holes! What the heck!? He's over 6' tall - how did he get down there? And how is he going to get back up? cheesy What an inspiration!

Then I went home & made myself a pizza on a tortilla shell with homemade pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, bell pepper, jalapeno's & Mexican cheese! I'm pulling this beauty out of the oven & the foil tears & my piece of art falls face down on the floor!! :sad: So I made my hubby take me out to eat! cheesy

I tried to buy some more tomato plants at Lowe's yesterday, but they were out of the 6-plant trays. All they had were $4 apiece hybrids. Oh well.

Your pizza story reminds me of A Christmas Story. After the neighbors' dogs ate the Christmas turkey, we said, "All right. Everybody upstairs. Get dressed. We are going out...to eat." :lol:

It's crazy how much homework they give kids now of days.

Good luck to Elizabeth with her recital!! I'm sure she will do great as always!!

He must of been a true lover of Christmas as he was the president who started the national Christmas tree tradition


In 1923, President Calvin Coolidge touches a button and lights up the first national Christmas tree to grace the White House grounds.
Not only was this the first White House “community” Christmas tree, but it was the first to be decorated with electric lights–a strand of 2,500 red, white and green bulbs. The balsam fir came from Coolidge’s home state of Vermont and stood 48 feet tall. Several musical groups performed at the tree-lighting ceremony, including the Epiphany Church choir and the U.S. Marine Band. Later that evening, President Coolidge and first lady Grace were treated to carols sung by members of Washington D.C.’s First Congregational Church.

Well, yesterday was a carbon copy of Wednesday, weather-wise. In fact, it was actually even cooler.
I never saw our temp rise out of the the upper 60's all day.
Very comfortable for outside working, with plenty of sun and no precip of any kind.
One or two more days, then the H&H returns.
We are at 60 degrees here, right now.

Oh my, I am moving slow today. Feeling better overall, just kind of run down. Still coughing too. Not too much going on here. I have a lot of laundry to do today, I just haven't been keeping up with it this week. I'm going to work on a menu plan and grocery list too. And I need to run a few errands at some point. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a Happy Friday!

I bet they are thrilled it's the last day of school! Bring on summer vacation! It's the Seniors last day today, but the rest of the kids go until Thursday next week. The seniors had their "Hillbilly Parade" today! So funny! They all meet at the Legion & they have a parade to school driving their old tractors, 4 wheelers, bicycles, some ride in boats, fork lifts, mopeds... Only in small town Ohio! HA!

I hope Elizabeth's recital goes very well tomorrow. She's probably a tired girl today! I hope the movie works out for her! How exciting!!

We did have a fun dinner out. We just went up to the local Kafe & a couple of our friends were there! I will have to get my favorite pizza out at the lake this weekend! It's all good!

Bummer about the tomatoes. It's crazy to have to pay that much! I forgot I had bought jalapeno's so before I went to the garden I stopped at the hardware & bought a pack. Here I already had picked up 2 packs...so we now have 11 jalapeno plants. cheesy YUM

Thanks, Holiday!!!! It's still cool here too thankfully. We've only had one small shower though and now the sun is out. I will try to send it to you and take the clouds back!!!!!
