I think I read the first chapter ... I got derailed by re-discovering a book I forgot I had---I'm re-reading that right now.
"The Bishop's Wife" was published in 1928, so the language is a bit stiffer and more florid than modern readers are used to. But I'm used to that! Two or three of my favorite books were published around 1910!

I noticed that when I first started reading it… Kind of turned me off for a minute, but I kept going and I'm really enjoying it.

Good Monday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

What a busy morning, I've had! I'm only now getting a chance to sign in. Doesn't the boss know that all this work is cutting into my MMC time?!?

Jacob's band played at Wild Wings Café Friday night, and they really surprised the owner. Since the restaurant is in a college town, the summer is always slow for local businesses. We packed his house! After the gig, the manager was so appreciative! And Jacob got an offer to join another band, so he was pretty full of himself. LOL.

I cut my grass Saturday after repairing the mower in the sun for a couple hours. I got too hot at one point, tunnel vision, clammy feeling. But I cooled off under a garden hose, and got back to work. What a trooper I am!

I had to go to the Outlet Mall with the family yesterday afternoon, school-clothes shopping. Bor-ring!

Snow-in-Texas and I had our proud grandparent moment on Saturday morning. Our grandsons are on the same basketball team together and they were making all the shots for their team. Even parents rooting on the other team were shouting out with compliments to them. Wayne (Snow-in-Texas) said to them with his eyes lit up, "That's my grandson"! I know, I know, we have all had our proud moments as parents/grandparents but I just had to brag a bit. Made us happy because they have struggled some at basketball and that day was a big improvement! I must admit, there were some really awesome players on the other team too!

So exciting and that ia great you got to watch them play!

hot day here and going to be an even hotter week.
Had a relaxing day, not feeling very well for most of, better now but still feeling off.
LittleCS was over doing her laundry
Getting things ready for my meeting tomorrow afternoon.
Dishes almost done, baking another batch of sourdough bread in the morning, it is the only bread we eat here now.
Was going to go for a walk but it is still a humidex of 31c outside so think I will just cuddle with the AC instead.

Ok, maybe it's just me but I feel like I'm in a bit of a funk this morning and can't shake it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I couldn't get out for my run this morning due to it raining this morning. So I had about an hour of extra sleep which instead of making me feel refreshed just made me more tired. Then I come into work with this new work assignment that just seems like it's gonna be a real pain in the duff and I soooo don't want to deal with it right now.

I'm in the midst of making a packing list of things we'll need to start gathering for our vacation in two weeks. I still have not made concrete arrangements for our dog's care while we're gone. I need to make a run to Target to return a top for my daughter and hopefully find a replacement as well as pick up toiletries and snacks for the plane. The weekend before we leave my girls will be visiting their dad so that means mum either has to have them pack just about everything they will need for the two week trip by this weekend or I have to pack up everything for the pair of them including my 17yr old while they're gone and hope for the best. UGH!!!

I hope you were able to get out of your funk today.
