Christmas Countdown - 2015

I had an eventful night last night. My elderly dog, Meca, was refusing to eat yesterday. Occasionally she will not eat breakfast but will finally eat by dinner time. Dinner time rolled around and she refused that too. She is unable to get off and on our bed on her own, we always have to help her off and on. When we went to bed last night Meca was getting very restless from not feeling well and I was afraid she would fall off the bed, also afraid she was going to throw up in our bed because she was making gagging noises. So I slept on the floor with her along with my other 2 dogs and 2 cats! They all joined me, it was a site! I just comforted her until she fell asleep and I was surprised I slept for several hours on a hard floor! I kept waking up with her to make sure she was comfortable and could get back to sleep. The good news is, she was drinking water this morning, eating and back to her old self!!!

The things we do for our babies! It's all worth it!!!

I am sure that Simon was wondering what took us so long to get his favourite food back... He wasn't happy for a while. Unfortunately, we could not do much about it. It was out of stock and not being shipped into Canada for almost two months!

I love seeing all the fall stuff, too. Don't get me wrong, I love summer, but I guess I can fully admit to loving all the seasons. Each has its perks and something great to offer!

Hi everyone!
It's been so long since I've been on here. I actually had a random dream about this site the other day.
I'm entering my senior year of college! I think I joined this site in the 7th or 8th grade.. I can't believe how old I'm getting! But yeah, senior year! Still have 4-5 years to go after this though, as I want to go to grad school and pursue a Psy. D. I hope everyone is doing very well!!

I like Fall, too. Weather-wise, I would say it last about from September until mid to late November. That seems to be long enough for me. Those outdoor lights don't look proper without some snow!

Hopefully Harlowe has an unlimited supply of her favourite food now, too! Simon is now at least set for almost two weeks...

Agreed, there! Christmas without snow is unacceptable, I had to do that for many years. It was not how I was raised, and was just wrong ;-)

But I wouldn't mind either summer being cut a little bit shorter, or winter not being seven or eight months here lol

Our printer died late last night, and I lost sleep trying to get it going again. The waste ink triggers a sensor that bricks the printer after a certain number of pages are printed, and the only way to get the printer working again is to take it to an authorized repair shop---which is too far away, and with Mr. sometimes working from home on a moment's notice, we can't afford to be without a printer for days or weeks---or buy a new one. We've been down this road several times before, but stick to this brand because it does a beautiful job on printable CDs and DVDs. This last one lasted only 15 months! Happily, the one we wanted was on sale this morning, so we bought a new one plus a 3-year Square Trade warranty. The salesman assured us that Square Trade prefers to replace the budget-priced printers if they stop working rather than repair them. So next time this happens, we should be covered.

The printer threw my worry-warts into a tizzy right at bedtime, so I got very little sleep last night. I'll have to make up the sleep by relaxing today and getting some good sleep tonight, because this week is shaping up to be crazy-busy at the office.

Sorry to hear this happened, but glad to hear you were able to find the printer on sale. Hope you are relaxing today and can get some good sleep tonight!

I just had wonderful, belly-bustin' dinner here at mom's! I was planning to shoot my 9mm today, but it's just too hot outside to enjoy it. I'm sitting here with Elizabeth watching Matilda. It's funny!

We're going to a low country boil at Bernie & Hilda's this evening. More yum!

Good Sunday afternoon, everyone!

It was a very busy Saturday here in Canada's Capital. Kim and I finally found Simon's favourite food. He was very excited to have it return to his dish after a two month absence. It was nice to cook a delicious dinner last night and then just spend some time watching a movie.

I spotted a sign that the Season is getting closer at Petsmart! It's more than 2 1/2 months away, but Petsmart is already prepared for all your pet costume needs. I'd be lying to say that I wasn't surprised, although it did not fail to put a smile on my face.

After taking this photo, we visited Walmart and I noticed that all their Seasonal items are being moved around and switched to Fall. I suspect that Halloween will make its way in there within a couple weeks.

A little before Halloween, but I also spotted this nice seasonal aisle a week and a half ago at our grocery store. After all, (Canadian) Thanksgiving is only about two months away!:

She's been doing well today, thanks! Unless she's does a lot of activity or plays hard, she seems to be okay. The hips are usually just pretty noticeable when she goes to get up after she been laying for a while, having to get in the car, in bed - those type of things.

Thanks - it was yummy! We went to Texas Roadhouse and Sweet Frog for dessert - the kids really enjoyed that!

Oh my goodness, that is scary. I don't buy catnip, my four are crazy enough without it.

We didn't buy it on purpose it was inside a toy that didn't say anything about catnip on the front package. Honestly, I thought he had been stung by a hornet until I checked around and discovered puncture marks and a hole in a toy mouse wrapped in hard twine. I bring extra glasses with me if I'm buying toys for him just to be safe.

So great that you've wandered back this way; I have Christmas drives quite often. Glad yours made you remember there's a jolly place to hang your stocking filled with a bunch of people who love Christmas.

Good heavens, I never heard of a cat having a bad "trip" on catnip! Sounds like it was a terrible experience for all. I'm glad everyone got through it okay.

It was horrible. I was scared for him a few times because he would freak out and tear off to a hiding place with the slightest sound or shadows. O'Malley is feral so he's a bit troubled and over-sensitive to begin with so the catnip drove him around the bend.
