Christmas Countdown - 2015

I am so envious of my brother! Today we will reach a temperature of 106 while my brother is spending 2 weeks in Alaska! I text him the other day and told him what the temps are here right now, he text back and said, "na na na na boo boo, it's only 67 degrees for the high here"! I text back and said, "Oh hush"! LOL!!! I wish I was there with him!!!

Try and keep cool CAH!

Just curious, does anyone else here buy Bath and Body Works candles? I am a huge fan of them! Their Autumn scents are my absolute favorite, actually the only scents I buy from them.

I know the majority of folks prefer Yankee but just wondering if anyone buys BBW brands besides me.

I bought a couple of candles at Bath & Body Works last year at Christmas time and I loved them. There was one I especially loved, pretty sure it was called champagne toast. I will have to go there and check out their Fall scents.

Good morning!
Happy Monday!
Not a lot going on here, typical day of errands and chores. My youngest said her phone charger isn't working so I'm going to run to the store to buy her one since she's working a long shift today. I've never had a phone charger stop working on me, This isn't the first one I've bought for my girls, I don't know what they do to them.
Snowflake inspired me to get some new wax melts for Autumn, I placed an order with Yankee Candle yesterday. I picked up a couple of the new Fall scents including Sugar & Spice, Vanilla Bourbon, and Brandy Pear Tart. Can't wait to get them. I'm really getting excited about Fall, it's still warm during the day but I can feel a difference in the air every morning. I've also seen a few acorns on the ground.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend and has a great week ahead!

I have actually had some issues with one of my phone chargers, just once. I made a HUGE mistake and bought an off brand charger and completely burned out the battery in my phone! It just would not hold a charge anymore. I would get 100% charge and it would drain within an hour after I got it off the charger. I thought it would be fine even though I was warned not to do that but will never do that again. I hope they don't have any more issues!

Happy Monday HMG!! We also have issues with chargers too..lol Today is the day my daughter can upgrade her phone so she has been hounding me to do that so that will be on the agenda this week...lol
I wanted to try the new wax melts too. I think I will look online for them...those scents so good!!

My girls phone chargers either stop working or they lose them!

Another day down,one more before my next day off. Sunday we have my family reunion to go to, the 134th annual, so we get to see a lot of family we haven't seen since my grandmother passed away last August. I am 5 working days until vacation, this one I am taking just to use up my remaining days for this year. I can't wait, but I was just on vacation not even 3 weeks ago so it doesn't hold the same excitement as the other one I had anticipated for months for, but it is a week away from the fun-house, that's all that matters.
We went to Friendly's for sundaes after dinner, and I was paying with a card, and the waitress asked for my ID, I showed her and she said "Oh my." She said "do you remember me?"
I said no.
She said she was so and so.
I said oh my god.
I had grown up with her as a child, our families use to vacation together. She still has pictures of us as kids. I could not believe it. Such a small world.
I hope you all had a great day.

The very first signs of fall are all around us. A few leaves on some of the trees are turning light red on their way to being the color of Rudolph's nose on Christmas Eve. The fall decor is blooming in the stores like Christmas will be in less than a month (and in some cases already is!). My excitement is growing like the Christmas trees in the farm just waiting to be cut and put up in someone's home. And our countdown is shrinking like the temperatures will be in just a few months.

How do I count thee, Christmas?
-Yesterday, it was 20 weeks to Christmas Day! This means we are in the TEENS in that Countdown now.
-Our numbers stand as follows:
Days to the Season: 97
Days to Christmas Day: 139
-Our next milestone is just 6 days away...the 3/4 mark to the season!

And, most importantly, our favorite countdown counter Crown84 is coming home from vacation TODAY! It's been an honor to serve as a countdown elf while he's been away. Thanks for allowing me the privilege!

Well, it was a tad chilly here this morning, I love it when the nights are cool and it warms up in the afternoon.

My holidays are coming to a close.

I have 2 long weekends to look forward to, but other than that, I haven't booked any time off until the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.
I get 25 vacation days, plus STATS so I enjoy spreading out my vacation time to last the year with plenty of breaks.

I'm happy to report that this vacation afforded me the opportunity to be very active here at MMC with minimal activity on FB.
Not sure where the evenings will take me in the coming weeks, but I trust that I'll be swinging by this merry way more regularly as we climb that merry ladder awaiting the arrival of another Christmas.

Good Saturday morning MMC!

I've been dreading this day all week because of all the cleaning I'll be doing. Not in my home but the home of my neighbor's. I clean her home once a month while she and her husband
are at their beach house for the weekend. I also clean her elderly father's home too and even though his home is larger than hers its easier to clean. Once I'm done with cleaning I plan to make a dinner of salmon cakes, mashed potatoes and asparagus for the girls and I. I also have to make a side dish for the farewell dinner our church is holding tomorrow for two congregation families who are relocating. While I want to attend I'm sort of regretting signing up for go with a everything we have to do before our morning flight out Monday to Florida. But I'm a woman who stands by her commitments, if I've said yes then I'm gonna do my best to keep my word.

I was just going to text you! Let me start by saying ...She did have a few good hours last night, even saw her tail wag a few times.
But then she had a few rough hours, as well. She seems to get pretty upset after the ointment. But there is no bad reaction around the wound area, and the vet says it's not supposed to hurt or burn. I think she is just very sensitive, and feels vulnerable right now because it is quite large and that area is exposed. We are giving her a lot of love and attention though-hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quickly.

Uh oh! I missed something, what happened to Harlowe???

Harlowe has a nasty wound- skin infection, and has been feeling pretty rough because of it.
She had a fever, and swelling with it.
She's on antibiotics & an antibiotic cream. Hopefully we'll start seeing some good results this week.
