I haven't gotten really excited yet. I think it won't be quite real until the time is approved and it's on the calendar as a real thing. But my mind is doing a little wandering through New England autumn scenes! Even if we do nothing but loaf there for two days, it'll be heavenly. Must take pictures!

We have "adopt a highway" and "adopt a garden" trends around these parts, I wonder how "adopt a pole" would work in your community. We've never tried it here, but I imagine there are people who would sponsor a pole and have their name dog-tagged to it in tribute. If anybody can sell the idea in your neck of the woods, it would be you!

We have a small town with the same name not far from here and I hiked there several years ago with my husband. Wound up clicking photos at the lake in the gorge and then noticed one of the rocks moved and I zoomed in and it was a small bear fishing with his paws. Instead of clicking on the video, I started backing up and so did my husband. Usually when there's a cub, there's a mama bear not far off. Instead of braving it, we decided to call it a day. My heart just picked up its beat while I started typing - seems like the memory still has me going.

I think that was smart of you to leave the scene!! EEK!

Morning MMC!
Fall is starting to creep in and you can feel it in the air. I went for my morning run this morning wearing a short sleeved shirt and the moment i step onto my driveway i wanted to turn back around and grab a hoodie but i know once my body starts moving i will warm up and adjust but boy it took a few minutes for that to happen. After my shower i even made myself my first cup of tea in months.
It warms up to the mid 80's by the afternoon so that's nice and we usually have a Indian summer for a week or two when the temps rise just when we think summer is gone for sure.

I'm trying to make plans for us this weekend but it seems as though i can't come up with much right now. I'm taking Lizzybeth to have her hair trimmed and i may get a manicure as a special treat for myself. I'm going to attend a church banquet Saturday for those who are interested in joining the choir. I'm not the best singer but i can carry a tune and i figured joining would be another social outlet for me. I usually don't do much outside of doing things with my girls and one of my sister's and her family. My friend/co-worker has been on me for over a year telling me I'm to young to live like a hermit so I'm trying.

Anyone making plans yet for the weekend?

We will be at the lake this weekend. Our friend is making "ribs & the fixins" for us Friday night out there. Saturday night my hubby is going to the Bengals game! (boo!) And I don't think we have any plans on Sunday!

Not too much going on here today, I need to run to Target for a few things and work on some chores around the house. I'm going to take a ride with my daughter later this afternoon, she just found out she needs scrubs by Monday. She's such a peanut, I hope she doesn't have a problem finding something that fits her. And I need to squeeze a workout in at some point too. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

I am feeling quite accomplished. The organization in my home is getting done! The summer was so busy with the grandkids and working my regular job that I got way behind! My daughter and son-in-law have had a few days off so the grankids have been going home after school. When they go back to work I will have them after school. Right now it's just me and the critters!

I have another Merry Podcast to listen to while getting more done today!

The car part that I won in the Ebay auction finally arrived...and it's DOA. It was supposed to be a racing shifter that ratchets through the gears, but it's obviously very old and doesn't work properly. I sent the guy a message through Ebay. Hopefully, we can come to an agreement. Rats.

Happy to hear that you'll get some relief when the weekend gets here. Mr. and I will be crankin' again next week. I got out at a decent hour yesterday, but Mr. was working from around 1 p.m. until 11 p.m.

But the happy news is that we won two nights at a lovely Vermont inn! We're thinking of going in October---if the office can spare both of us, 'cause Mr. has been covering for me when I'm out---it should be beautiful then. This week, the thought of two days to just hang out in Vermont is delicious! We haven't been there before.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! Well our fall like weather stretch is coming to a close with a high of 80 predicted for today. At least we had a nice little break there and the A/C got a break. Nothing to exciting going on here today. Mom isn't feeling well again so I will be keeping an eye on her and I need to work on my grocery list for this week. I still miss having a cat in the house ... having a small furry friend around ... sometimes they're sweet, sometimes they're aloof, sometimes they just have that cat-titude about them.

Ahh yes, cat-titude! They are funny little things, aren't they?! I grew up with cats, had lots of them my entire life.

I did not get my first dog until about 14 years ago when I got Chico. He is the one I lost a couple of years ago to heart failure. I miss him dearly!!! What got me into dogs was when a neighbor asked me to babysit hers while she was out of town and her dog's company was the best I ever experienced. I knew I had to have one in my life! Now I have both doggies and kitties!

You do have Simon's Cat in your life! Maybe someday Simon's Cat will get a real cat in his life. Hugs to him!!!

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!! Took me a bit to get caught up this morning!
We have nice weather this morning ~ I'm actually seeing sun! It peeked out a few times yesterday but we haven't had much sun the last couple days. We actually had fog this morning. We were shocked when we opened the blinds!
Last night I got about 6-7 qt of tomato juice ready to can or to make spaghetti sauce or salsa with. I did take Gracie for a walk. I have to admit this cooler weather is nice for walking! That's about it from me this morning!
