Christmas Countdown - 2015

Merry Saturday all.
It's Saturday! My favourite day of the week! I am in my fluffy bear onsie and I plan on staying in it for the rest of the day! My throat is slightly swollen and scratchy, I am achy and lightheaded. I seem to get over one bug and move straight into some other. Things have been non stop and my husband thinks I'm pushing myself to much. So today I think I need to catch up on rest especially as I am in work tomorrow.

Oh forgot to mention Mr Festive brought the biggest pumpkin yesterday! It is so orange and beautiful! I'll have to post a pic.

We had "Autumn vacation" the last week
so it will be good for the kids to go back to school on Monday
(and for us....haha)
Cold weather here, but no sign of snow just jet..
But we usually have the first snowfall in October

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you get plenty of rest today and feel better.
No big plans here today, typical day of errands and chores. Making a big pot of chili for dinner and watching some hockey this evening.
We need to pick up a couple of more pumpkins to carve. Can't wait to see your picture!

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

My MMC/computer woes are apparently caused by our network at work, because I'm having no trouble posting from home on my work laptop. I don't know what's causing the delay at work, but at least they haven't blocked MMC. It would be clobberin' time!

My brother called last night to say that a guy came to his shop while he was tuning up the engine in the Camaro yesterday. The guy was so impressed with the engine that he offered a LARGE sum of money for it. Just the engine. Jim said it was so much money, we could build another, stronger engine and have a lot of money to spare. I told him the make the deal! I'm going over to talk it over with him today.

We are going through the same thing FS--I'm missing my morning run due to a swollen scratchy throat...and I was JUST sick last week. It's been a stressful season at work, and I know my body is telling me I'm not taking care of it...time to drink some tea and rest up! I work tomorrow as well!

I'm doing some cooking and food shopping today, and hopefully a little cleaning if I can get up and feel okay. Lots of resting for sure is on for today! I want to get back to running Monday!

Good morning, friends! It's been quite sometime since I've posted in the countdown and I haven't posted much on MMC. I've been pretty busy lately though. It's going to be that way for a few months, so I'm not sure how long I'll be "away", but I do need to get back in the habit and try to check in at least daily on my phone.

A week or so back, I accepted a new job. Officially on November 15th, I'll be a nurse in the ER and ICU. I love working as an OB nurse, but I wanted to expand my horizons and this will for sure. I occasionally work in these departments and love it. I'll still work on OB on my weekends, until May and then one of my co-workers is leaving, so I'll be working in the ER and ICU all the time. I have three different certification test to take over the next few months and will be studying for those, plus have a lot to do for orientation, so a long with all of that and of course my busy schedule with my kids, I just haven't been able to stop in like I would like to.

This is my weekend off, so I intend to read a little today, as we sit and watch some spooky cartoons! Hope all is well with you guys! I think of you all often and pray for you all as well! Miss you all! God Bless!

Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes! We don't usually make much of a fuss about anniversaries because EVERY day we're glad we got married.

Wish me some luck, please ... I have a "check engine" light and no one can look at it until next week. Caught the service dept. last night just before they closed, and they said not to worry unless it starts flashing. I'm already worrying, even though we've had false warnings before. They always tell me to make sure the gas cap is tight, so the light IS sensitive. Still ... must do a good bit of driving today.

Sorry I missed your anniversary, but you're right - you and Mr. are a classic case of a couple who were truly mean to be! Happy Anniversary!!!

Hope all works out for you with your car - I'll be praying for you!

Sugar......It's always great to hear from you! Congrats on the new job there; my mrs works in the ER lab a couple days a week and she tells me that the people coming into the Er can make it very interesting at times. I hope it goes well.....

Good Saturday morning MMC. It's currently 47 degrees under partly sunny skies in the suburbs of NY. Chilly but hey it's October. Feels like it should. We are expecting a high of 63 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Perfect fall weather (although a little coolish for me but I'm enjoying the 60s). How's everyone feeling as they wake up to their weekend? I love reading MMC during the week and posting but it's definitely even more fun on a weekend or day off to sit here relaxed having breakfast reading all these great posts from these great people.
Today I am gonna do my normal stuff (after all I do have some form of OCD, but don't most people haha) and I'm going to meet up with a friend at the park. She wants to go "walking." Since I started my running streak over 2 years ago I still enjoy going for a walk sometimes. We always talk about work, life, school, family, and stuff. She's one of the coolest people I ever met. I met a lot of people "online" back when I was in my late 20s-early 30s but very few ever stuck. For some reason we just became pretty good friends. She seems to accept me for me...I don't know why lol. Oh yeah and tonight dinner will be homemade pizza. Life ain't so bad huh?

Wonderful to see you-we've missed you around here! Congrats on the new job! My husband is an inpatient chaplain with a health system in the area. You'll definitely be stretched for sure, and I'm glad! They'll be lucky to have you!

Thanks for the congrats as well! It is a very exciting time for me - I'll be fully trained in every aspect of nursing at our hospital (except for the operating room/recovery room), which I think is great. God Bless your husband - a chaplain is a blessing in my eyes.
