Part of the fun is hearing something great and thinking, "Wow! I forgot I had that!!"SO MUCH music to listen too....![]()
There's one of those hills in Frederick County, but they call theirs Spook Hill. The legend is that ghosts of Civil War soldiers who were trying to move a cannon push your car up the hill, if you stop at the bottom and put the car in neutral.Good Morning All! It is a rainy Wednesday here in Glen Burnie. It's dark and windy, just right for Halloween! It's a good day to be at work, too; it's nice and warm here, and it's pleasant to look out at the bad weather while typing and drinking tea. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, too; Hubby and I are making our annual trip to the local Gravity Hill, where you can turn your car motor off and the car will still go up the hill. It's a dark and spooky bit of road, very appropriate for a Halloween trip.
Well, I hope it's not enough to make traveling a challenge!!! xxNot so much right now. I have a lot of traveling to do for work tomorrow, and not much extra time in between. Thanks!

Agreed! That happened to me a couple years ago. I heard a really good version of "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" I forgot I had!Part of the fun is hearing something great and thinking, "Wow! I forgot I had that!!"
EEK!There's one of those hills in Frederick County, but they call theirs Spook Hill. The legend is that ghosts of Civil War soldiers who were trying to move a cannon push your car up the hill, if you stop at the bottom and put the car in neutral.
Thank you. Me, too.Well, I hope it's not enough to make traveling a challenge!!! xx
We get a few snow flurries each winter, but I can count the number of times on both hands when we actually got a few inches of snow.I'll take 81 over the snow except for Christmas time...the rest of the year I'd take 81 lol. You ever see snow Brad? Does it snow where you are ever? Or have you lived/traveled to snowy places?
Happy Pines Day, MsRose!Hello MMC friends
Wow it's so interesting to go through the thread and see all the interesting conversations going on. LOL
I have such a hard time with concentration problems, to always join in.
But I really enjoy hearing all the different stuff going on out in the world.
Hope everybody is having a happy safe day out there in the world!![]()
I'll be praying for safe travels for you! I totally understand about the 1st snow & people "forgetting" how to drive in it. People are crazy! Not that I'm perfect - I'm sure I'm guilty myself -like when I almost miss the turn into our parking lot at work after that 1st snow....EEK! I know I've done that before. Thanks for the reminder for when it happnes!Thank you. Me, too.
It's the mix I'm concerned about, and having to take a lot of hills and less traveled highways.
If it stays in the higher temps, it won't be so bad. The first snowfall is always a mess- people "forget" how to drive/cautiously.
xx
I hope you are having a Merry Pines Day MsRose!Hello MMC friends

Your kids must have gotten really excited then when they got to see snow huh?We get a few snow flurries each winter, but I can count the number of times on both hands when we actually got a few inches of snow.
We vacation in the NC mountains, and it snows pretty regularly during the winter. I wish my family lived there instead of coastal GA!
Yeah it happens to everyone at some point...like that moving mailbox I almost hit one time. Don't ask how it was it moving...it was, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.I'll be praying for safe travels for you! And as you said the worst is in the ice. 4-wheel drivers think that means they can go as fast as they want. Here's the thing...4-wheel drive will help you go through the snow some yes...but it will not help you STOP on ice. Thanks so much, friend.
I've done it, too =]
It's the people who think they're invincible and drive too fast that make me nervous. Even if you're cautious, you still have to worry about them.
