I love a well made fruit cake. Those cheap mass produced ones are no good, have to get the hand made, loaded with fruit and nuts and wrapped in a rum soaked cheese cloth and allowed to age for at least a month.

Wow! I've never tried one like that! May be worth a shot...

A quick merry morning on the way out my door MMC!

Husband forgot to keep my alarm on and I've got an early meeting, so I don't have much time to chat!

I hope everyone is well and is preparing for a great day today! The concert went very well last night!! I loved playing with the band and the Army Chorus was fabulous! It was a great experience. Of course I'm super tired today, so I hope the day goes by quickly.

Good evening,

I had one of the worst days at work possible, just one of those days where absolutely nothing went right. Thank goodness I have tomorrow off to recharge a bit, but I do have a Dr appt. to check out what is going on with my foot.

MerryCarey, I just saw on the news there was a small 2.0 earthquake out your way tonight. Did you feel it at all tonight?

I am ready to fall asleep.

I hope today is a much better day for you---and that nothing serious is going wrong with your foot. It's good that today is a day off so you can catch your breath and try to relax a bit.

No, I didn't feel the earthquake! I heard about it on the radio this morning.
I remember a couple from a few years ago. The sound and sensation was almost exactly like having a very large truck idling outside your window.

How neat! It sounds like a sweet book.

Oh, it is! I remember bits and pieces of the verses, and the pictures. There were three little angels: Pigtails, Crewcut, and little Touslehead. Now I want to ransack our storage boxes to see if I still have it! If I can find it, I'll store it with our Christmas stuff. Or maybe it's already there ... if so, I'll find it next week!

Just for fun I Googled the book last night. Amazing the prices it is getting, even when it's in so-so condition! I wouldn't sell mine, though! I also remember another book by the same author and illustrator: "Davey and the First Christmas," I think it was. I don't remember anything about the story, except I think he had a stubborn little donkey. I don't think I have that one anymore ...

I was SO tickled to see that picture. See, it's a full-page illustration, and my mom wanted to trace the picture for a Sunday school class she was teaching, so she outlined it in heavy pencil in my copy. I hadn't seen the un-penciled picture since I was a preschooler! I darn near teared up. Now I'm fired up to try to find my copy, if I still have it.

Okay so what's stocking stuffer night at brew barn??? Do tell! Like the sound of a brew barn . Is it some sort of bar?? Tavern? Pub?

It was a lot of fun! It's a local craft beer place that opened up this past spring. The couple that owns it is actually our neighbors - they brew their own beer. Last night they had a "ladies night/stocking stuffer night" They had jewelry, hand made soaps, essential oils, handmade baby items, purses, Watkins, kids books. All kinds of vendors. It was a fun night!

They grow some of their own HOPS & buy some from a local HOPS farmer.

It's a unique place! They have entertainment & host fundraisers.

Good Afternoon MMC !!

Busy day here, finally got a chance to check in here.

Nice sunny day here, but please pray for the folks in BC, my brother called and they are having a wicked storm there. Freeway closed because a large truck got blown over, trees down, 400,000 without power, roofs coming off lots of flooding, a big mess.

Going to put up our outdoor lights yet this afternoon (I hope) going to get cold and wet by end of week so this is a good day to get that done.

Hope you are all well, will try to read through the posts later.

Good Morning, Folks.

Just a couple more days to go to complete a full week of Christmas Season 2015.
And just ONE more day to go to reach the final Milestone on our 2015 Marker Chart.

Days to Thanksgiving: 8 (ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 37 (Nearly down to FIVE weeks!)

And that final Milestone?
Well it's the 90 percent Home Stretch point to Christmas Day and it's TOMORROW!
Then, with ALL of our Milestones behind us, it will be clear sailing on to Christmas!


Pleasant temps yesterday with no rain. Today should be even better and we are supposed to crack 70, but should get rain late today and tomorrow.
We stand just under 57 degrees here at this hour.

A couple of days ago I was at Sam's and they had this for sale:


The display was full! They were offering as a sample, too, and no one would even try it.
I passed on it, too.

My parents made fruitcake that friends and neighbors BEGGED for, believe it or not! When MMC had blogs, I wrote a blog about it. They always made fruitcakes on Thanksgiving Day, so they could "mature" wrapped up in the refrigerator until near Christmas. So our oven was full of fruitcakes each Thanksgiving instead of turkey!
