Christmas Countdown - 2015

Evening all. Shopping finished tonight in a marathon session. Even popped in for a black forest hot chocolate to celebrate.

I saw that Made! Do you know that they put Plainfield, CT schools in lockdown because they thought the threat was made here and then they found out it was IN. So scary the world we live in now!

That is crazy!!! They just had a news conference and it doesn't seem like they have figured out much yet or they are at least saying they haven't.

Cleaning is done. I think it's time for a Christmas movie!!!

off to work again in about 15 min, should get some breakfast.
Daughter all better, now son sick with same thing...I am refusing to get it, much to busy.

so I am back from work now, had a slow but good day there.
We might get some snow tomorrow! But aside from that a green Christmas is predicted for this area. I hope they are wrong, would love to have some snow for Christmas.

Just found out today we are moving in the new year, either in Feb or March, waiting to hear when the unit will be ready for us. It is a really long move, all the way across the parking lot. We have to down size to a two bedroom, this 3 bedroom is more room than we need now.

Had the fire department visit us today..some of them are really cute! The CO2 detector in the basement went off. No CO2 anywhere, turns out it was just old and needed replacing. But it gives the neighbours something to talk about since they decided to come with all their sirens blasting and lights on.

Having cabbage rolls for dinner, other than that a quiet evening.

So i maneged to read all posts a whopping 120+ pages and are all up to date now.
I would like to:
- congratulate those who have; passed an exam, had family expand, got all things done before the big day next week
- wish you all better when you are ill ore have a sick loved one at home
- send all in need some huggs (big and small) and prayers (in abundance if needed)
- send my love to those who are not here because of surcomstances
- Thank those who have send all things great and small, fysical and in thought in the past few weeks (to myself and those in need)

It's great to be back and spend this last week in count down towards a great day every year in life.

That is very kind of you.

I just bought my last Christmas gift, a pair of tickets to an Islander game for my husband. It feels good to be done shopping, just have to finish wrapping and get this house in order for Christmas Day. I'm really looking forward to hosting!

So glad tomorrow is Friday! I had a LOVELY day off...but I'm feeling a little under the weather now. :\ Drinking cold care tea and hoping it's nothing!!

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!!

Well last night was a good news/bad news kind of night. After work I picked up Gracie from the groomer, picked up a gift card to a restaurant, went to Kohls, went to the grocery...got everything put away & started working on cleaning & I made some spiced pecans! (YUM) Then I got a phone call from our neighbor saying I won $1000.00! WOO HOO!! The Legion has a weekly drawing - I paid my $1 & signed in Monday night - if were at the legion last night, I would have won $2000! Darnit! (not complaining!) Anyway - Merry Christmas to me. Too bad we have a $900+ bill due at the auto shop next week. HA! So that was the good news.
I sat down to check email last night & I had a message from my brother in Cape Cod. He is not coming home for Christmas this year. 1st time in a whole bunch of years he won't be here! I was so bummed! My other brother & his family are going to my SIL's family for Christmas Eve. My niece isn't coming home with her 3 boys, & another niece is going to her boyfriends house. Our Christmas Eve crowd will be cut in 1/2. And this is the 1st Christmas without Dad. I was just moping about it last night. Anyway, it's all good, but it definitely won't be a normal kind of Christmas this year.
Hard to believe tomorrow is the final Friday before Christmas.

Reminds me of the first Christmas my brother was in Switzerland and didn't make it home. He's only missed two Christmases, once he accepted an invitation to celebrate in Cuba instead of with us. So many of our cousins live far out of town now and don't return for Christmas since their mom passed away. One year, my parents decided to go spend it with my brother (after my dad's battle with cancer, they wanted to have a quiet Christmas with less traffic). I love traditions and for me it involves the same faces around the snack table, decorated tree and fireplace. I'm sure it will still be a merry time; just different.
