Morning everyone and a happy Pines day.

Morning MMC! Happy Pines Day again! Definitely didn't feel any headache or tired on Tuesday which was good. Another day at work today and then a relaxing evening at home. I can see the grass (partially) after a warm spring Tuesday. Unfortunately it's going to be back below normal for a couple of days now before a beautiful Saturday being predicted. Hope everyone has a great mid-week!

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Pines Day!
It's going to be sunny but windy and cold today. Not too much going on here. I've been up for awhile. My middle daughter finished orientation & training at the hospital, today is her first real day of work. Hope it goes smoothly. Typical day for me, I have to run a couple of errands and I'll be working on my daily chores. My mother is coming over to visit later this afternoon. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!

Good Morning MMC !

It is a very chilly morning here, opposite of yesterdays promise of spring. Even had a dusting of snow last night!!

Ballcoach...congrats on your promotion, sounds great, exciting and challenging position, perfect for you !
HMG...how is your daughter feeling today ?
Snowflake...happy birthday, may your day be great and your cake big!

It is my day off. Have some errands to run but otherwise staying home and getting a few things done here.

Hope you all have a great day !!

Good Morning, Milestone Seekers.

Seek and ye shall find!
(And the next one is close to hand, ready to be discovered. Details pending.)

This morning's figures:
Days to the Season: 236
Days to Christmas Day: 278

FOUR.
<< What? >>
FOUR. That's the number of days still standing between us and the completion of the first QUARTER of our journey back to Christmas Day.
That's barely over HALF A WEEK, now.
<< Wow, Crown! >>
Wow, indeed.

Well, it almost seemed yesterday that we moved directly from winter to summer, skipping spring entirely. Lots and lots of sun and temperatures near 80 degrees. No precipitation, too.
Great!
Today will see us back down to cooler temps. We have started things off at 55 degrees here and are not predicted to leave the 50's all day.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends!
See you at the 'Pines this evening, as Carl continues his theme of "Marching through March".
I think a conga line is planned with little doubt as to who will be leading it.
(What's of more interest, if not concern, is where it will be leading TO!)

Thanks Crown! Seems like a brisk March through March so far!

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!!! We have started the day with a bright & sunny/breezy 22º! Brrrrr! But it sure looks pretty - looking out the window!

My homemade bread turned out pretty good last night. I will do it a little different the next time, but all in all, it was tasty! The new patty melt recipe was good too though Jim says I can back off the Dijon mustard the next time! ;) I heard him tell Gracie it was scrumptious!!

If you could say a prayer for my friend Roxanne today, I would appreciate it. She goes in for a cancer scan in Columbus today. She had a double mastectomy a few weeks ago & then didn't get the results she was hoping for. She sure could use some MMC prayers! Thanks! :)

Everyone, have a wonderful day! See you tonight at the Pines!!

Is she making the No-Knead style? I have tried it and just cant seem to get it to come out. Its so simple to make but the end product eludes me. It either only rises 1/2 way in the dutch oven and remains dense and tasteless or it doesnt rise at all.
Nope, this one "needs to be kneaded" :D but not a lot. My Kitchen Aid does all that work though. Thankfully when I stopped at Moms after work yesterday Emma was in the middle of making bread, so I got a few tips from her.
This is Emma's recipe:

Emma's Homemade Bread (2 loaves)

1 C. Hot Water
2 T. Butter
2 T. Sugar (divided)
1/2 T. salt
1 C. lukewarm water
1 T. or 1 pkg, yeast
4 1/2 - 5 Cup Bread Flour

Dissolve yeast with 1 T. Sugar in the lukewarm water & let rise (10-15 minutes). Stir together the 1 C. Hot water, butter, salt, & the other T. of Sugar. After the yeast has risen mix it with the hot water mixture. Then add around 4 1/2 - 5 C. Flour. Knead a little. Let rise for maybe an hour, punch it down, & let rise again until double in size. (second time doesn't take as long as the 1st) Put in 2 pans, & let rise to a normal size loaf. Bake at 350º, 30 minutes.
After it's done, butter tops & sides.
Best when served warm.

Good Afternoon MMC !!

It is beautiful sunny first full day of spring here in southern Ontario. i am really enjoying this wonderful sunshine. Only worked this morning so it is nice to get to enjoy this afternoon.
Baking some bread, catching up here and watching some netflix.

There, bread is now in pans for final rising. This bread has some oat flour in it, I have never baked with this but it smells good, so will see how it tastes in bread.

I want to also paint a ceramic ornament for my back yard. This is a couple of birds on a mailbox all decorated for Christmas, complete with gifts inside. I can put a light in it so it will be nice in the evening. Will remind me of this place when it gets hot outside !

hope you are all enjoying your day!!

Good morning CS! Sounds like you had a nice afternoon off yesterday. The ceramic ornament for your back yard sounds really cute!! Have a Merry Pines Day!

Ah the joy of going to bed with the window opened a tiny bit. And yes it will be very cold tomorrow morning but when Spring comes, we go crazy opening windows. Good night!
Hope it wasn't toooooo cold this morning!!! xx

Sending a prayer for Roxanne now. Bless her heart.

Good Pinesday morning, Christmas friends!

Wow, it was almost 90°F yesterday. I had some work to do on my sign rental business, and it was so warm I had to wear shorts. You do NOT want to see these white legs without some form of eye protection!

We have another day around 80 today, then 65 tomorrow, then 80 Friday... it's just crazy around here.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
