Christmas Countdown - 2017

It's been one of those weeks here. Emily has had several bad dizzy spells and was in the hospital Monday and Tuesday. So I had Katie who has been sick with a sinus infection. Then yesterday I had both of them. Today katie was feeling good enough to go to school but I still have emily. Needless to say, I'm not getting anything done.

Hope they find out what is causing Emily's dizzy spells and that she feels better soon.

Happy Thursday .. My kids go back to school in exactly 3 weeks and they are not happy about it LOL. Humidity pick up and suppose to get storms tonight and tomorrow before the humidity takes a hike. The sooner the better .. I went through my tarts last night and I need to stock up on more pumpkin and apples spice scents for the fall so I think I will pick up some this weekend. Love how they make the house smell

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve! Anybody remember 14 days ago when I posted our 15 day forecast & the hottest day predicted was 80º - there were only 1 or 2 days we were even supposed to hit 80º up through tomorrow. Well - yesterday was 90+ & HUMID! I believe they missed that one! But that's ok, as summer is winding down I'm really appreciating the sunshine & being able to walk outside w/ no coat & no saying "BRRRRRR"! LOL

Gracie's diarrhea continues! Poor girl! Thankfully all day yesterday there were no messes in the house. Outside was a different story. He said give it 24-48 hours - tonight will be 48 hours, so we'll see! She did eat better yesterday! xx

There was nothing yet at the grocery store! I bought a pumpkin pie candle (which I have burning now) as well as a Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Spice candle! LOVE fall candles!!

HAHA!! Our DG is the same way. I went yesterday afternoon to pick up a couple things and I almost bought some pumpkin things.
My grocery store has out all the Halloween candy and some fall decorations. Such a great feeling to see it all coming back on the shelves!

Me too. For the last few years September has been beautiful so fingers crossed summer bids us farewell with a September to remember!

Mum is here till sep 25th which is later than she usually stays. She usually comes July and august but this year she is here aug and september. so it will be nice to have her around in the lead up to autumn. She has been helping with some decorating and I am enjoying her cooking We are enjoying the time together. Tomorrow we will be visiting a little town near here. should be fun.

I hope you have a beautiful September...but let's not rush time with your mom away! It sounds like you girls are enjoying your time together. I love it! So nice to have her there to help with decorating...and of course, nothing beats moms cooking! I hope you both have a great time tomorrow!

Mom is doing ok. She's been having some shaky spells for about a week now. After she wakes up in the morning she is so shaky & doesn't feel good. My sis brought a wedge pillow for her last night thinking maybe she needs to sleep a little more upright - this morning was a good morning, so I don't know if it was the pillow, or just a fluke! Anyway, I'm happy she was having a good morning. Her memory is pretty shaky too! But she just keeps trucking along!

I picked up a couple pumpkin scented candles at the DG last night to burn at work! (I don't like to spend a lot of money on work candles!) The pumpkin pie candle I'm burning today actually is making the whole office smell really good. And for $1.50, can't beat it!

As much as I love summer, it is great to see Fall things on the shelf!!
I'm not sure if I mentioned it here but our friends daughter was over the other night selling Fall flowers, through school. (traveling teens) I ordered 6 mums, 2 pansy's & a hanging basket mum. I think they come in Oct. 1st. Wish it was a little earlier, but it will be ok!

My kids are back on the 30th and my oldest is cramming in her summer homework..lol
They are under protest as well!

I need to get stock up on some more pumpkin scents too...I need to put that on my list.

Good Friday morning! I'm really looking forward to the weekend, though I will be busy with our Summer work party Saturday night (just a get-together at a casual restaurant) and I'm marching in the Montréal Pride Parade on Sunday with our company. Not that many activities, I know, but for me that's a busy weekend lol I've been up since 5am and it's still night out. I wanted to get up early to get a workout in instead of doing it after work. And Loki snuck in and kept licking my face while I was exercising on the floor, as he does. Hope everyone will have a wonderful day ahead!

Morning MMC and TGIF! Forgot how long a 5 day work week is. But it's been mostly a good week and hopefully will finish up ok today. Not many summer weekends left so going to enjoy the nice weather hopefully as I don't have a lot planned for this weekend. Other than that 14 days till the Bers. Just can't imagine that in 2 weeks it starts all over again. Today's forecast is a high in the low 80s with showers and thunderstorms. Should clear up though just in time for the weekend. Where we live now there is only the 1 DG in a huge area, they had built a 2nd store but closed it up within a year. They all seem to carry different things than what the next store might carry. And 1 thing they all have in common is that they really dont care how the store looks inside..lol

On August 25, SEVEN days from today, we will enter the FINAL THIRD of our trip back to Christmas.
(That's exactly ONE lone week, Folks. Better be ready to enter the fast track!)


Still the heat.
Still the humidity.
Still the quickie rains that just add to the moisture without really cooling us off.
When will it all end?
Maybe in the Fall.
For now, we continue with the same conditions unabated, and this latest installment has commenced here in central North Carolina at 75 degrees.

Happy Friday!! Looks like it is going to be a dreary day with rain and t-storms. My oldest has a soccer game tonight and my youngest was invited to Six Flags tonight and a sleepover at a friend's house so hopefully the weather cooperates. We'll see...we don't have many plans for the weekend. My husband is working a 1/2 day tomorrow for a co-worker. I think we will probably just grill out tomorrow night and relax.
