Sure is windy outside! Gusting up to 60MPH, according to the local news, and it's supposed to get faster near noon. I'm hoping the power lasts at least until daylight. Y'all stay safe!
Morning Brad. Good advice for us all and I trust you and the family are doing well also. Will pray the effect is minimal and that your power remains intact. Take care...

Good morning ~
It's going to be cloudy today with highs near 77, we're currently at 54 degrees. I have a chiropractor appointment this morning. I need to pick up a few things a Target afterward. Back home to work on daily chores. Just a typical day. Dinner will be meatball soup with mini raviolis. That's about it for me. Thinking of everyone in Irma's path, I will continue to pray.
Remembering September 11th as well. God Bless America.

Greetings HMG. Currently 61 here with a high in the mid 80's expected. So nice outside working weather. I hope your "typical" day goes well and have a relaxing dinner. My thoughts go out to all those in the path of the storm and many other places in the world suffering from natural disasters. May the Lord in His greatness watch over this country and the world as well...

Morning MMC! 9-11...never forget that day. And also those in the path of the hurricane. It was so nice here this weekend I almost felt guilty. It was a busy weekend but a good one. Next weekend should be quieter. I like those weekends more than the busy ones sometimes. Today we expect another nice day with mostly sunny skies and a high of 76. Have a good Monday!
Top of the Morning to you Edge. So how do you think your Jets looked overall? It is a terrible time for many in the storm's path, but try not to feel too guilty, our weather is coming down the road. Not as intense as a hurricane by any measure, but snow and ice have had their adverse effects on the northern region. Have a nice week and get ready for this evening's contests. Here is the one I'm waiting for...

Good Morning to all the MMC crowd. Sorry I did not get the chance to stop by yesterday, but it was a weird day for me overall (but not a bad day). I dined on quite a bit of taco meat in tortilla boats and on hamburger buns. There may not be too many here who remember an item carried by the early days of Taco Bell called a Bellbeefer. Basically a taco on a hamburger bun. So I decided to be a little retro for opening Sunday at the NFL. Not a ton on the books for today. I do have to make one quick trip to Wally World and then get some yard work done. We got a gentle soaking Saturday afternoon to early Sunday morning, so that should help.
With highs this week all in the 80's, I'm hoping to get more done outside, but also to get into the garage and start with the many boxes of Christmas located therein.
Tonight it will be time to fire up the grill once more. My extremely better half has requested steaks, so that and some chops sounds like the way to go (maybe a ham steak instead of chops).
I hope you all have a tremendous start to this new week. People in the storm's path, please take care...
A Good Week.jpg

Good Saturday evening, Christmas friends.

We've decided to stay home since Irma seems to be tracking farther west. I hope that's a good decision. It's a toss-up between fighting the wind, or risking the overcrowded roads.

While I was closing the pool and moving lawn furniture to the shop, we got the call that our niece had suddenly passed away while watching her son play a baseball game. She was only 33 and hadn't been sick. She left two children, 10 and 4.

The storm is also demanding our attention, and we can't even plan her funeral yet because of it. It's just so very sad.

I hope you all stay safe!
I am so sorry to hear about your niece...that must have been such a shock. Prayers to your family.
Hope you are ok in the storm!

Evening all,
Rough day at work followed by phone call from my brother letting me know mum's cat died after a rough week of being ill. He just couldn't break the news to her over the phone so I told her in person. Maze had been in and out of the vet all week and sadly they did all the could but she passed away. Mum is so heartbroken especially as she was not there for Maze I feel so sad for her as well as my brother :( My brother found Maze abandoned back in Feb and brought her home.

Hope everyone is well and prayers for everyone suffering the hurricane and storms.
Sorry to hear about your Mom's cat. It is so hard when we lose a member of the family.

Good Morning, People.

Rise and shine.
It's a new week.
A week that, at its end, will see us all the way to the 100-day Christmas Day Milestone marker!

Days to the Season: 63
Days to Christmas Day: 105

And when will we see the 100-day Christmas Day Window open, revealing a double-double-digit count?
Just FIVE days from now!
(Yep. It's just that soon.)

Our "early fall" weather continued yesterday, with unusually cool temps, lots of sun and no rain or wind.
Beautiful!
Today will see highs in the mid 70's, again with no rain.
The story will be different tonight and tomorrow, when the remains of Irma are supposed to bring us some rain.
We are cloudy right now and see a temperature reading of 62 degrees on our back door thermometer.
Still thinking about our Florida friends and hoping they came through the hurricane OK.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone.
Thanks, Crown..have a great Monday!

Have a good day, CG!! Hope you enjoyed your football!

Merry Monday! Just a usual day of work for me and tonight my daughter has an away soccer game under the lights starting at 6:30. I have a busy week ahead...I have 2 open houses for both the kids and another soccer game on Thursday. I think I will definitely be using my crockpot a couple of times this week. I was just watching a 9/11 memorial on TV...such a sad day.
Hope you all have a great day!

I was running the platoon on a 5 miler. This hummer comes screaming up to me and I got told what happened...they locked Lejeune down tighter than a can of tuna fish. I told those kids (thats what they seemed like to me) "Your life as you know it is gunna change fast" they never knew how sorry I felt for them and their ideas of Hollywood war.

Good morning MMC! "Merry" Monday! It's crazy how fast the weekends fly by!!

It was a good weekend with Mom. We had a blast at the Country craft store. I bought a few things - still haven't had time to decorate for fall though! My mums were delivered yesterday. So exciting! I have to share the picture of my gigantic mum ~ I had no idea it was going to be so huge!!! LOL

They all look really healthy this year! :)

Little Lucy had a good weekend! She's so funny! She had her 1st vet appointment Saturday morning & it went fine. He switched her dog food, but other than that - all looked good. She weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs! ;)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & have a great week ahead!

Good morning, everyone!

The first week back at school and I've been busy. I have worked every day this week. It's practically unheard-of for a substitute teacher. I guess that's what happens when you're active in the community.

Kim and I met with our officiant last night. It was a very nice meeting. We had only discussed things over the phone thus far. I think we threw her off a little bit by our non-traditionalities. We've dropped a few things from the ceremony that we felt added non-sensible downtime, so it should be a little bit quicker. We like that. She had a suggestion or two, as well. We were happy to add one of them. Otherwise, we're not really budging. I think we're set and happy with how it'll be - we just need to choose the music... or, at least, Kim does.

No real plans for the weekend just yet. I think we're taking it easy. We have to dog-sit Kim's friend Olivia's pug Charlie. He's a sweet guy. He's been welcoming when Simon slept at his house for about a full week. We've had Charlie at our house before, but only for an hour or so at a time. Hopefully Simon is OK with him spending the night... You just never know with that cat.

Well, it's almost lunch time. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable Friday. Keep your eyes peeled for some buddings. I went to the Seasonal section at War-Mart yesterday and noticed that they didn't even have any Halloween stuff out. I was baffled. They still had bug spray and a few patio sets. I think this Wal-Mart must have bad management because those should have been gone almost month ago! ... at least that's how it's been in years past. Perhaps I will get to check out another shortly.
Hope you had a great weekend with Charlie!!!

I hope you are staying safe!

Greetings everyone!

Its been quite some time since I've posted anything. I pop in occasionally and read, but in the past months our family has been through a great deal and I haven't been posting much of anything anywhere. We're in Florida, so this evening instead of sitting and watching local weather forecasts updating on Hurricane Irma every 10 minutes, I decided I'd rather have some fun and post on the forum, think about Christmas and all the wonderful things still to come.

I'm going to peruse the site for a while, get caught up, see what Christmas trouble I can get into, but just wanted to post to say I think about the members of this site on a daily basis. I have never met any of you in person, nor spoken on the phone, but the conversations and sharing are always with me and mean more than you may know.

Hope everyone is well and blessed and looking forward to the upcoming Christmas season!! I did buy my first autumn home decoration a few days ago at Hobby Lobby. It made me entirely too happy to see this display:

Many season greetings to you all!
Nice to see you graywolf!!!

Evening gang. Got up a little earlier than planned, but that's alright as it gave me some more time with my wife and a leisurely dinner. Now the clock tells me I need to get headed out the door and to my last shift for this week. The storm coverage on the Weather Channel looks ominous for the people in the southern regions of the country. I hope and pray that people in the path get away. I can only imagine the possible possession losses, but certainly nothing compared to the loss of a neighbor or loved one.
Sure makes the occasional mid-western blizzard seem trivial. For the rest of the community, stay safe, have a restful evening and a great Sunday.
Holiday, last time I checked, it didn't look like much of an offense on either side of the ball between Ohio State and Oklahoma. Go Buckeyes...

That game was pitiful! I'm sure @Ryan was happy though! :p
Hope you had a great weekend. How fun that you got to put out Halloween/Fall things! :)

Morning everyone,
Dismal and raining here but I'll take it. The havoc of hurricanes in the Caribbean and the US is an immense tragedy. We may live with rain every day but grateful we are not in dangerous weather.
Prayers for all.

Had a nice day out shopping on Friday. Halloween is making it's debut across our town now. good bye summer indeed.
Off to work , have a great day.

Good morning Festive! I hope you & your mom had another fun weekend together!

Morning all,
Pretty much the same as Festive :) rain and wind here this morning, its dismal and cold but weirdly quite nice being cuddled up inside. Just me and the smallest person are up and chilling out watching videos :)
Halloween has hit some of our shops so far so have the kids deciding what they want to dress as now so I can get in there quickly. No doubt we will be trick or treating again this year :) provided the weather isnt too bad

Hope all those affected by the hurricanes are ok and safe. My friend is in Orlando at the minute and so far seems to be ok but hoping to hear from her in the next few hours.

Stay safe and have a good day!
x
I hope your friend is staying safe!! xx Have a great day Skippy!

Christmas-music-avoidance-but-not-completely - update for Monday:

Doing "Steeleye Span" albums now... teetering dangerously close to "Gaudete", which by happenstance, is not on the current album i'm listening to... Halloween can't come first enough, got a "yuletide backlog" in my mind which really wants out.

That is all for today.

Good Sunday morning! Very happy that I only had to work half the weekend, as yesterday was brutal. Only redeeming thing about the work day is that a few employees wished me a happy birthday and one brought me a cake, one gave me macaroons (I had always wanted to try macaroons so this was a real treat) and one gave me chocolate. I was really touched. This day is starting out grey and gloomy but the sun should come out. After running errands and doing some housechores, I think I'll treat myself to a marathon of Homeland season 6 on iTunes, the only way I have to watch this show, since I received gift cards for this service. Have a great day everyone and for those in Irma's path, please stay safe.
Happy Belated birthday Martine!!! Hope your day was great! Now we continue to celebrate our birthday MONTH! :D

Good morning MMC ~
I'm having my coffee and watching coverage of the hurricane. We have friends and family throughout Florida and I'm concerned. Thoughts and prayers for every one that is in Irma's path. Praying hard for all of the animals that will be affected as well.
I don't have too much going on here. I may take a ride to a local craft fair if I feel up to it. There are always lots of homemade Autumn and Christmas decorations at this fair so I would like to go. Other than that I will be working on the laundry. I already fried meatballs and have a pot of sauce simmering. Dinner will be baked ziti. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well.
xx
Did you buy anything fun??? Have a great day HMG!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It has been a hectic weekend here. Late game Friday night, gave the ACT test on Saturday morning, and took the girls to the playground and to eat pizza yesterday afternoon. Upon putting them to bed last night, I laid down with one of them to talk them to sleep and I woke up at 3:00 a.m.

Want everyone to know that I'm praying for them with Irma. Stay safe!

My Christmas calendar has an event on it for today. I'm supposed to clean out the garage so that I can get lights out in a couple of weeks to start testing them. Terrible planning on my part! NFL opens today, that is probably all I am going to do today! Have a good one!
I hope all your lights work! :)
