Christmas Countdown - 2017

[Holiday]

One of the reasons I love "Mrs. Brown's Boys" is that, in the various Christmas episodes, there are little Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE on the set! A Christmas tree, cookie jars, mugs, pillows, figurines, lights---it's messy and chaotic, but it's Christmas everywhere you look!

Well repair guys were unable to find the leak today. They are thinking it is a problem with something deeper in the air/heat pump unit. So now they are contacting the manufacturing company to see what they think should be replaced. So now A/C for now. At least it is not the middle of the summer, though it is quite warm these days and I like the house to be chilly. All fans on high!

I hope they can get it fixed soon!!! Stay cool!

A bit of a stressful week and season. Work is just really hard right now. But, a bit of Christmas Blossoms thread magic and maybe a teensie bit of Christmas music is doing the trick tonight while I begin a new scarf using a delicious fall plum colored yarn! Hope everyone finds ways to relax tonight! So thankful for you all. This is a safe space for me with everything going nuts around me.

Sorry to hear things have been so stressful! Christmas is a great way to unwind! I hope things calm down soon! xx

Thanks!! Had a great time seeing everyone. Of course, they asked when I am going to put up my trees and I said I am going to start working on them November 1st and I got the expected "you are crazy, that is way too early" comments! But, it's not too early for me! I am counting down the days!

HA! Love it! Nov 1 is not far away!!! So exciting!

usually we are with family, but this year so many are traveling that it will sadly not happen. i will however be having my girls over and if the day is nice we plan to head out to the lake for awhile.
We will have the usual turkey with all the trimmings of course !

Awe sorry to hear so many will be traveling, but it sounds like a nice day with your girls! Just a different kind of Thanksgiving! I hope you all enjoy the special day!

Happy Pines Day!

What a hectic week it's been with various things.

My youngest is due to start secondary school next september so we have been visiting various schools at their open evenings as we narrow down our choices. We have to submit our selections by end of month. Yesterday, we visited an academy that was very 'Hogwarts' like lol. Mr Festive even joked that that he thought he saw Malfoy go pass We visited at twilight and the lovely old building was framed perfectly against an indigo sky and half bare trees swaying creepily. I can not believe that my son is almost in secondary school!!! When I envision him in his uniform wearing a blazer and tie , I just want to burst out crying because it feels like just yesterday he was crawling around in a winnie the pooh onsie!!

Anyway.... hope you guys are having a great week.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I'm sleepy, didn't sleep well last night. And I'm the official alarm clock for the family, since I'm usually an early riser. I find sticky notes on the Keurig with wake-up times, and today was a particularly early morning for Elizabeth, so no sleep for me.

I'm taking Mom to the dentist today for some work that will require some medication, so I'm the designated driver.

Getting so close to our next Milestone, it's not even funny.
(Wonderful, but not funny!)

Straight to the daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 40
Days to Christmas Day: 82

And just like the iceberg that sank the Titanic, a truly MAJOR Milestone marker looms just ahead off our bow. (Only this impact will be gentle and welcomed!)
The magic marker in question is the 90 PERCENT HOME STRETCH point to the Season and will arrive the day after tomorrow!
(Such excitement. Don't know if I can stand it!)


We are in a wonderful rut weather-wise here in central NC. If it could be like this year round, I would be as happy as a kid on Christmas morning!
Today's installment has launched here at 55 degrees.


Well, the refreshing weather has invigorated Carl. (Since when is Carl not invigorated, actually?) And he's feeling extra frisky.
Not sure if that is good or bad news, to tell you the truth. Come this evening and find out.

Good Day fellow MMC's -- Hope all is well in MMC-Ville (it's a real place, I checked and everything) -- I'm taking a bit of time for myself at the moment after finishing the housework for the day. Got the Christmas music playing as I type. Rather than write traditional Christmas cards this year, I'm going to make personalised Christmas Music CD's for my work colleagues. Something a bit different, but very festive. The rest of today will likely be spent listening, shortlisting and playing around with tracklists. Not a bad way to spend the day IMO! -- Here's what I have playing at the moment.

Morning All! A age old hunting friend finally made it here last night to make plans for our hunt next year. After our ritual of rolling dice to determine where and what we hunt, it ended up being New Mexico for elk. I hope he never finds out I loaded the dice..lol

Almost forgot last night I had a nightmare that Rollins got away, I ran after him and couldn't find him. Woke up freaking out and he was laying right next to me.

I hate those types of dreams...they seem so real!

The CDs are a great idea! Mr. and I did that for 9 or 10 years, then switched to DVDs of Christmas clips from TV, movies, YouTube, etc. We're on our ninth DVD this year!

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!!! So far it's a dreary day. They keep changing our % chance of rain. An hour ago it was 40% chance & now it says 80! We sure could use it!! We're supposed to have a high of 77º today. Our grass is so brown & crunchy! Jim has been in the fields all week combining. He was hoping to get quite a bit more done today before the rain.

Not much going on here today - just work. Last night I cooked spaghetti sauce - so tonight I re-heat it & get it canned. I also started crocheting a shrug (shawl) for my nieces wedding last night. She asked my sister & I to make 6 of them for her bridesmaids - then when she saw it she wants one for herself - then when the 2 mothers saw it, they both want one, so now we are up to needing 9 shrugs by Dec. 30th! That will keep us hopping!!

I got home late last night already tired and grumpy, then had to deal with a printer problem at home that I couldn't fix ... I was tense and irritated AND tired after I wrestled with that. So we popped in an episode of Mrs. Brown before bed, and it made me feel better!

Festive... yes, they grow up way too quickly. I remember how old I felt (at 46), when I realized my son was now the same age I was when he was born.
