Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good morning and Happy Sunday!
Busy day here. I'm going wedding dress shopping with my daughter. We're also going to see a display of jack-o-lanterns later this evening. It's my first time going, I heard there are thousands of pumpkins on display. Should be fun! I also need to work on laundry in between and make lasagna for dinner :)

Good morning! It is nice out this morning, but we are about an hour away from some showers making their way here. Hopefully, they will be out of town by the time church is out. That's the bad news....

The good news is that a cold front is behind it. Our temp is 71 degrees right now....and that is as hot as it gets today. When church is over, it is supposed to be 65! The low tonight is in the 40's!!!! YIPEEEEE!

Plus, we haven't had rain here in what seems like at least a month.....so it is pretty welcome!

After church, I plan on playing outside and enjoying the cooler weather. I might even throw some burgers on the grill.

Yall have a glorious Sunday.

Our relentless advance continues, as we close in on the holidays with reckless speed.

Today's figures:
Days to Halloween: 16 (Two weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to the Season: 29 (FOUR WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 71 (Ten weeks from tomorrow!)

It's just getting ever more exciting by the day, Folks!


Quite comfortable weather continues, with the temperature just a bit on the coolish side. It's been rather cloudy but hopefully, the sun will return today and we should have a pretty good second half of our weekend.
This morning has dawned at 65 degrees here in the capital city.


Have a Super Sunday, Friends.
And go Packers!

No, none have been assigned yet and you are the first to step forward. Of course you can have a day!
Bing has traditionally taken day 4 before the season (Nov. 9) but beyond that, any day is open. Do you have a choice?
 
Ballcoach has brought to mind our annual special post series. It's the string of 5 days immediately preceding the Nov 13 start of the Christmas season (Nov. 8-12).
During this period, volunteers present a "special" post concerning Christmas and the Christmas Season. It's always been great fun and gives whoever wants to a chance to express themselves and their literary talents!

It's first come, first served as far as day assignments are concerned.
Since the whole idea began, our Binger has always posted for Nov 9, so I will assign that to them unless they opt out this year. (Bing?)
Ballcoach just indicated a desire to participate, so we have three more days available.

I think that I did one two years ago so I'll take one if available (any day is fine).
 
Good morning Everyone! I think I am finally going to get my wish, the temps will drop tomorrow to a high in the 50's!! That puts me in the mood for the Autumn season more than anything else! Going to relax and watch football today, and make a big pot of turkey noodle soup. Oh, and beg my fantasy football players to actually show up and play today! (Still waiting for that elusive second win of the season...) Have a great Sunday everyone!

OK. I'll make you lead-off, Nov 8, the same position you had in 2015, if that's OK with you.
Ballcoach, I'll assign you to November 11.
If Binger takes their usual Nov 9, that leaves two positions, November 10 and November 12, open.

Woohoo!! I will take the 10th Crown, Corps B-Day!!
 
Ohhhh the fog this morning, thick, enveloping blanket of frigid hope and promise. Down to 6, but reports of it climbing to 24 by end of the day :(

Go away summer - you'll not guilt me into pulling those weeds, or fixing that outside light fixture... i'm DONE with outsideness.
