Good Morning MMC!! Ready, or not - I'm back!! Back to the grind!! It's amazing how fast 11 days off work can go! At least it's Wednesday/Hump Day/ PINES DAY!! The 1st one of the year! I hope Carl had the heat cranked up!! Whew baby it's cold outside!! Actually today should feel like a heat wave compared to yesterdays -11º, feel like -26º! Wow that was cold! Today we are already at 11º, feel like -4º! Cold enough!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & a Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to getting caught up on the forums. Might take a bit as I have catch up to do at work too!!

Merry Pines Day!
Well I broke down and called the doctor, I have an appointment this afternoon. I probably should have gone sooner but I was so wrapped up in the holidays. I was coughing so much last night that I ended up on the couch, I felt bad for my husband. Praying my hubby and the girls don’t catch what I have.
Snow is heading our way tomorrow, they’re saying up to 10 inches. We’ll see what happens.

Happy first Wednesday of the year!

It was about 12F when I headed out this morning, and it felt mild after the -6F yesterday! We're expecting 8 to 12 inches of snow tomorrow, and the coastal areas are expecting blizzard conditions. Ugh.

That’s a fair amount of snow..stock up on hot chicolate ! Keep safe and warm .

Weather has been in the conversation of many people the last while. We have lots and lots and lots of snow. Yesterday when I drove to Mom’s appointment out of town it was drifting so badly you couldn’t see the road in spots. But we made it there and back fine, after all this is Canada we should be used to this by now.

I’ve seen two trees out by the curb so far and you’re right it’s always sad


Are the battle of the bulge so many of us wage war with that! Be thinking about you and praying that you will be successful

Thank you, we'll try! There are supposed to be wind gusts up to 50 mph with the snow ... hoping we won't lose power, as the temps drop into single digits (F) tomorrow night ... hot cocoa and tea are definitely on the menu!

Amazing daughter #1 announced this week that she is with child.

2018 will make me a Grandpa again.

Nothing but joy in that announcement. A real gift.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A new year is here, I hope it will be better than the last. I disappeared from here in April or May last year. I popped in a few times the rest of the year but nothing regular. I told you my wife and I seperated back in September, we got back together and seperated again in November. My grandfather passed away in November and the time we spent reflecting after he passed brought us back together. Everything finally caught up to me at the end of November, and I had a breakdown where I had to go to the hospital. I am still recovering from the breakdown, but I am still doing everything I normally do. My wife and I are doing a lot better, we worked a lot of things out, us and the boys had a great Christmas. Between my grandfather's passing and the Christmas season, I believe those two things have saved our marriage.
I hope to be here more often this year and visit all of you.
I hope you all had a nice Christmas and a happy new year.

Hello everyone! I haven't had a chance to pop in and wish everyone a Happy New Year! My husband and I spent new years eve with my parents. There is no place I would have rather been! We have done that the past three years or so. We order good food and sit at the table and play cards. This year was very special because my father is very ill so I wanted to make sure we were there. He wasn't able to make it out of bed to play cards, but he knew we were there and when the clock struck midnight we went into his room and celebrated with him. I'm very nervous about what this year will bring with him so I am so grateful we made it to see them. I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2018! It is about 5 degrees here and just absolutely painful to be outside. Hope everyone stays warm!!

I'm so glad you were able to spend New Year's Eve with your parents and was able to celebrate with your dad! Your father and you and your family will be in my prayers for a happy and healthier 2018, sugarmuffin.

Schools were supposed to start back tomorrow. First, we got the call that they would be on a two hour delay because of the wind chills. Then, on my lunch hour, we got the call that school is cancelled for tomorrow & Friday because of wind chill & "possible snow". They get nine "snow days" & now they've burned two of them. I understand because of the poor kids standing in the dark & cold to catch the buses. DD likes school, but she did a little happy dance when I told her no school until Monday!

Back to work for me today. DH went back tomorrow & had to work late for an emergency. He said if yesterday is an indication of the year to come, "just shoot me now"...;

Everything at home is back to normal. Now I'm ready to make camping reservations for Easter weekend & look forward to our summer Walt Disney World vacation!
