Good afternoon .. I can not get over this rollercoaster rode of temperatures lately. It was barely in the 60s a few days ago and we are pushing 90s today and tomorrow only for a cold front and storms to roll through this weekend and drop the temps back down to the low 60s. I refuse to turn the central AC on yet so windows fans and ceiling fans it is :)
Sounds like our weather only yesterday was the hot day & today is the much cooler/rainy day already!
Have a good day Minta!!!

I believe Groucho's line ends in "...pulled the wool over my ice." That makes my quip a second cousin 86 years removed.
I was thinking of another line during the same dialogue: "That iceman stuff leaves me cold." The line you're quoting above is, "Oh, yeah? Well, you can't pull the wool over my ice."

I bow to your superior brain pan file cabinet. It is a minor miracle I remembered the script scrap in question at all.

Awww...what a sweet pup!! That is a good idea about Lucy, it may lure her out.
I hope so. I thought he/she looks sweet too - maybe a little scared! I wish I had more time to try to find the pup tonight/this weekend but I'll be with mama!

Full disclosure: When I was a kid, I recorded the soundtrack off TV with a cassette recorder and used to listen to it. (Same with "Animal Crackers" and "Duck Soup.") So it's permanently burned into my brain.

Thank you! We'll sure try!!! xx

I really hope this dog is ok and that you are able to get it to come close to you so you can take it to a loving home again. My heart breaks anytime I hear of stray pets. I even followed on Facebook the story of dog owners in Saskatchewan whose dog had run away. From time to time they'd hear of someone maybe spotting their dog here and there but they could never find him. After 85 days, their dog actually found his way back home and I just cried happy tears, and I don't even know these people. Thank you for looking out for this pup Holiday.

Good evening from the shore in Connecticut. Can you believe that we are running the AC already. I have both systems on right now, especially since I have a ham in the oven getting done. But even not baking the ham, it was like 80 degrees in here. I can’t keep the windows open because of allergies, so.....

I know, I know, why bake a ham if it’s so warm in here already. Well, it’s because I have been slowly using up all the meats in the freezer and the ham was in there. So, I defrosted it and there you have it. I couldn’t go another day without having a slice or two of ham, some mashed potatoes and some veggies!!! Oh yes, buttered bread is awaiting in the wings!!!!

A week of loss here for me:
Lost a coworker suddenly yesterday and today my husband’s good friend passed as well. Thankful for you all and the cheer you bring each day when I’m here. It helps to remind me of what’s important and to remember there is joy.

I am so sorry for you and your husband's losses, DYHWIH. Keeping all of you in my prayers. {{{HUGS}}}

Good rainy Thursday morning MMC!!! It was calm outside, I heard a rumble of thunder now Holy Hanna - suddenly we have torrential rain!!! Doesn't look like it will last long but we are supposed to have rain most of the day - last I looked!

We have a stray dog running at the farm! Last evening I walk into the sunroom & see 3 neighbors running through our back yard. I go out & here the neighbors dog was on the loose. We caught her, no problem. But while I was outside I missed a call from my hubby. There was a stray dog at the farm - no collar. He wanted me to bring dog food. So me & Lu headed to the farm. Couldn't find the dog back. BUT this morning on his way to work my hubby saw the dog, it was just finishing the bowl of food we left for it. But he took off into the field. We'll keep feeding it & hopefully eventually win it over. I posted on FB. If we don't find the owner & IF we can catch it, I think we already have a home for him/her! We are pretty sure someone probably dumped it at the farm. :( So cruel!

We had to turn our AC on last night. We had all the windows open, the attic fan on & it was still 77º in our house at 10pm. AND hubby's allergies were awful. So AC is probably on for the season!! Ready or not!

Everyone, have a GREAT Friday Eve!!!

God bless you and your husband for taking care of the stray dog! Most of the dogs we had when I was growing up were dropped off at our farm ~ they were the best pets!!

Oh yikes. Hope you stayed safe too. No issues here! Thankful!!
Merry Friday Eve!!!

A merry Friday Eve to you, too!

So glad you had no issues where you live! Humidity is up to 90% and there was a lot of rain today with more on the way tonight/tomorrow, so all is good here, too!

Good Morning, Everyone! It's been a long time since I stopped by. Thought I'd say, "Hi!"
Two weeks ago we were buried under snow and I had to shovel the driveway. Two days ago it got so hot and humid we almost, ALMOST, turned on the AC. Much needed storms came through last night and the temperature is about normal. But everything looks yucky outside.
I got a bit antsy at the end of February and decided to plant seedlings for my veggie garden early. It always feels like my garden is slacking behind everyone else's. I planted my seedlings and now they are monsters! And I can't plant them outdoors for another 3-4 weeks! :(
I learned that my seedlings fall behind everyone else's because I don't do a good enough job hardening off the plants before adding them to the garden. I will NOT plant seedlings so early next year, unless I have a greenhouse to put them in. Lesson learned.

I am off to work for a while. Then, it's beef stew and mashed potatoes for dinner.
I am looking forward to all of the great seasons, milestones, and holidays coming up! Have a great day, All! :)

Welcome back!
