Good Morning, Center-of-the-Weekers!

The middle part of the first full week in June has indeed been reached and from this vantage point, we have a real good view of our next looming Milestone marker, with which we are just about to collide.

First the numbers:
Days to the Season: 160
Days to Christmas Day: 202

The looming date of impact is the DAY AFTER TOMORROW and what we will be running into is the 200-Day Christmas Day Window.
After we shatter it, BOTH our counts will start with a "1".
(How abourt THAT, now!)

For early June, yesterday was quite pleasant indeed.
Plenty of sun, no rain, reduced humidity and termperatures in the low 80's.
(Even the mosquitoes cooperated, to a certain extent.)
Today will see us continue dry, with a high predicted at 86.
Our thermometer reading is 68 degrees here in the capital city at this hour.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
And don't forget to visit the 'Pines this evening as Carl begins to really gear up for the coming summer season. There is a rumor floating about a brand new "seasonal" coffee blend but as always, you taste-test at your own risk!
Hope to see you all there.

Merry Pines Day MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy today with highs near 68 degrees. I’m heading out in a little bit, Rocky has a groomer appointment this morning. He’ll only be there for about an hour so I think I’m going to take a walk around a nearby lake until he’s finished. I’m going to make a Target run later this afternoon. I also need to make meatballs and get a pot of sauce started, dinner will be spaghetti. Other than that I’ll be working on my daily chores. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day. See you tonight!
xx

Has anyone been keeping up with the news on the Hawaiian Volcano?

I've been watching the volcanic activity on the USGS website and then opening up Google Earth Pro and comparing the two. Before last night, I believe there was like 117 structures destroyed to then, then last night, lava swept across an area called Vacationland and it's adjoining Bay, they were both wiped off the face of the Earth. They say hundreds of homes were destroyed in just one night, a lake completely dried up and a Bay, completely filled up and destroyed. The pictures are mine blowing and that thing is still spewing lava. I feel so bad for all those poor people that lost their homes and business.

Having adopted ohana on the Big Island (Gloria), I’ve been keeping a close eye on the situation. Only about 10 square miles of the island are directly affected; southern and western areas are somewhat affected with air quality problems. Life is normal for most residents. But in the area where the lava is actually flowing, buildings, highways, everything in its path is destroyed. The largest lake on the island evaporated in just a few hours after lava flowed into it. The power of nature is truly awesome. Something like 7.7 square miles have been covered by new lava flow since May 4.

When you visit the island, you realize that most of the ground you walk on is ancient hardened lava. It’s hard to imagine, in a way, but also easy, considering what’s happening now.
Prayers to all affected!
I remember the Vog making people feel sick when we were there. It had an effect on many peoples sinuses.

Happy Pines Day! Hope we all can enjoy today. Looks like we'll have a nice day here. The days we don't get any rain all day are rare. We had showers on Tuesday like we did on Monday. Stayed 2 hours late at work yesterday but it's all good cause I only have a 3 day week next week. Have a great one today!
Nice to have a 3 day week to look forward too. Have a good day Edge!

Good morning folks

It is a relatively chilly morning, which is very nice. Not much on the plan today. Just took the car for an oil chance, tire rotation, and general check-up. My wife is still sewing like crazy. This evening we will take Henry to the grandparents and then we are off tomorrow around noon for the Indy PopCon. We go a day earlier so we can just walk around and hangout in Indy.

Wow, soooo.... I was making eggs this morning and I had the skillet melting butter. I cracked the first egg and went to put it in the skillet. However, as a tried to pull the egg a part, the shell simply shattered and instead of egg and no shell I had mostly shell with a mixture of egg. I have never had an egg do that before, it was the strangest thing.

So, I ate a peanut-butter and Nutella sandwich instead.

I hope the egg is not a foreshadowing of the rest of the day. o_O

I’ll apologize in advance for the heat and the rain!!! Well if the current trend holds, the rain will probably miss us.

Hope you guys have a great time!!!
