me and my partner watched this last night and we were terrified! with halloween approaching the television stations over here are showing alot of horror films and creepy programmes. this one was spine tingling!

i was surprised that that creepy little vampire dude from salem's lot (tapping on the window) was only at number 42.

here's how the top 10 played out...

10- nightmare on elm street, the scene in the boiler room

9 - the omen, the scene where the lady hangs herself

8- texas chainsaw massacre, the scene where he places the girl on the hook.

7- halloween, the scene where jamie lee curtis is hiding in the wardbrobe

6- ring, the scene where the the girl comes out of the tv

5- blair witch project, the scene where heather is talking into the camera

4- alien, the scene where the the alien escapes from the man's stomach

3- jaws, the scene where the man is diving and the dead corpse pops out

2- the exorcist, the scene where her head spins around

1- the shining, HERE'S JOHNNY!

i think that poltergeist should have been in the top 10 in place of alien, i also think the excorcism of emily rose should have been in there in place of the blair witch project. i would have put nightmare on elm street at number 1 and salem's lot (window tapping scene) at number 3.

Agree that Poltergeist should have been in there. I HATE the exorcise - it scares the living daylights out of me! lol Can't watch it - if I do, then I won't sleep for days! The book is even scarier (have read it twice).

I think that The Grudge should have been in the top 10 too.

None of them re scarey. LOL! Jaws is so old it 's boring.

I can't believe that The Ring beat out any of the 7-10 classic movies.

it´s very scary tho....that movie really got into my head for some time....the first night was terrible....I had a tv in my room...so I was scared that stupid tv switches on from alone and Samara comes out....

The scariest thing I've ever seen at the movies was how much a ticket costs! YOW!
