Hey everybody --

I've been a supporter and fan of this website for many years, and two years ago, I made the transition to a vegan lifestyle (which means no meat, no fish, no eggs, no dairy, no leather - basically, nothing that comes from or was once an animal). I'm looking for other vegans/vegetarians out there who love Christmas as much as I do. Just to give you an idea of how much I love Christmas, here's the list of a few things I do:

1) Listen to holiday music several times a week
2) Talk about Christmas at least once a week
3) Still believe in Santa Claus
4) Dream up ways new holiday cookie recipes almost daily
5) Was born on Christmas (I think that counts, right?) :)

Yep. I love me some Christmas! I'm hoping to start a thread where people who eat veg can talk about the food they cook and the new traditions they've incorporated into their holiday.

Even if you're not veg, if you want to join in, I say, the more, the merrier!!

Merry Christmas in September!!

xoxo

Well, I'm not a vegan by any wild stretch of the imagination, but I will say...

Welcome to MMC! cheesy

HELLO AND WELCOME !!!

I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. No red meat at all but I still use poultry and fish. Glad to see another "veggie" on here even though I am not technically a veggie !! cheesy

Hello and Welcome :tree:

Glad you love Christmas as much as we do - you'll enjoy it here.

I'll leave you to your vegan/vegetarian thread though; my tastes wouldn't fit in too well!!!!!!!!
:))

Well I am no vegetarian or vegan....but welcome to MMC!!! cheesy

Hi welcome here (if i'm to speak, also new ;) )

I'm also a vegetarian. Used to be a vegan, but my health didn't allow it (had problems fainting through high school :P ) and when i started studying i decided i wanted to have enough energy to study and decided to become vegetarian :) it helps a lot (have never fainted again :) )

i have never missed eating meat, but i do not like it when i go out to dinner with people and every one gets fixated on the question 'why are you a vegetarian?!!' sometimes i like to enjoy dinner without discussion :P how do you deal with this??

Yay!!

Hi!!

I'm a new member too!

I am also a vegetarian who is very passionate about food, so I would definitely get involved in a discussion about vegetarian christmas food cheesy

Look forward to seeing the thread x

I also have never missed red meat and I have not eaten it since 1990. I usually just kind of laugh it off when people ask why. I just tell them that for me it is just not an option any more. cheesy

Hey everybody! So nice to see some other holiday-loving veggies on here!

Kerstig - I've been vegan for over 2 years now (vegetarian and pescatarian for two years before that), so I'm so used to the question that I think it's silly now! I usually give a short and sweet answer with a smile, like "Well, I originally did it for the animals, but now I do it for my health and the environment too!" If people have more questions, I try to be calm and positive in listening and responding to them.

I'm so excited about this upcoming holiday, because since last year, my mom has gone vegan, my brother is almost vegetarian, my sister is vegetarian and doesn't eat eggs, and my husband is vegan! It's going to be a fun, yummy, compassionate Christmas for us!

I keep a blog called "Kiss Me, I'm Vegan!" - if you google "Kiss Me, I'm Vegan!", my blog is the first site that pops up. It's filled with all kinds of ideas and answers to questions about living vegan in a healthy, fun way.

It would be great to have a vegetarian holiday recipe exchange on here, so maybe we can start that thread in November.

Thanks again everybody, and Happy October! My how the time has flown... :)\\:rudolph:
