Christmas Lights on the house.

I am trying to find a company that will put up my Christmas lights this year. My hubby has Vertigo and can not get up on the roof. Wow!!! Are they expensive. I was quoted $1500.00 and I have a fairly small house. We just moved here and unfortunately we do not have family here to help,,, any suggestions???

Hi Rosie,

You're going to pay a lot of money through any kind of company. If your house is small I'd suggest contacting a church or a local service organization (like the Boy Scouts) and see if they can help you out.

I agree with Jeff. Also what about looking in the classifieds for a ''handy man'' I'm sure they won't charge as much . Maybe put an add up in your local church, library,market etc.... goodluck x

Have you gotten to know your new neighbors? Why not ask them for help, perhaps there are some who decorate their homes and are willing to help you.

I agree with what everyone said. See if you can find a handyman. Or see if you can find a neighborhood family that does their home. Ask them if they could help you. If you can't find someone, try a flyer and say "I want to spend X for someone to put them up and take them down once the holiday is over," and leave your number to be contacted.

Okay, so I never did find a reasonable company to put up the lights,,,but I did get them up. I send out a Facebook post, saying I would offer up Chili and beer. I have several friends call and say they would be there,,so hubby and about 4 other people put those lights up and they are really pretty.
