Lots of decorations - outside. I think Halloween is magical for children. Costumes, getting to go out at night with their parents, and go house to house getting candy. I love to encourage those happy feelings.
So - there are lots of nonscary decorations outside - and I will add more between now and Halloween.
Some favorites: An official-looking sign, hung on the telephone pole, which says "Parking for trick-or-treaters only. Violators will be scared away."
On the walkway to the front door, a wreath with non-scary figures. A wooden sign that says "Treats this way" with an arrow. Lots of orange pumpkins (sparkly) on the twig wreath and on the railings. (Soon to be joined by orange pumpkin lights and orange sparkly lights).
Painted cardboard black cats and bats. Fat small stuffed ghosts. Soft fuzzy spiders on sparkly webs. Etc. etc. All spread out along the thick bushes along the street and path.
