I know this sounds weird but has anyone had any ghostly encounters? I think I've had two. I think I was still in my teens and something had really upset me. I remember I was just sobbing face down into my pillow on my bed. I swear I felt someone petting my shoulder. It was at night, I was in bed for the night everyone else was in bed for the night. It kind of unnerved me and creeped me out but I don't think it was meant to startle me.

The second time was a few years ago. It was summer time 80+ degrees which for me is comfortable. I had the windows open and I was wearing shorts and a tank top and at the time I was sitting at the computer and I felt the weirdest sensation. It felt like something moved through me. From front to back, like someone literally walked through me as if I wasn't there. It was hot and at the same time, my whole body went cold and the cold moved through me from front to back. My blood felt cold, I swear my organs went cold, I had a cold sensation right down to my soul it seemed like and it just moved right through me. It was the most bizarre thing. Again, I didn't feel threatened or like anything meant to scare me. It was like maybe someone just wanted me to know they were there or maybe I was just simply in the way of where they wanted to walk. Very, very strange.

Definitely very strange experiences!

I've had some very, "difficult to rationally explain" experiences over the years.

When I was in high school we lived in a house where the paranormal was "normal". Disembodied voices, the sounds of children running and playing upstairs when no one was up there, things moving of their own accord in a way that they shouldn't have been able to move on their own. We lived in that house for nearly 10 years and there are just so many stories.

The interesting thing is that we were renting the home and when the landlord passed away, it had to be sold as a part of the estate. The couple that purchased it were buying it because they were getting married and wanted to start a family and the house was in a perfect location for that (near the schools, in a quiet neighborhood, etc.).

They put a lot of work into it, fixing it up and getting it ready to live in. When they were nearly done they invited us in to have a look around and it looked wonderful...they asked us if we'd ever had any "issues" in the home. We could definitely tell they were uncomfortable but we told them truthfully that, while we'd experienced "odd" issues in the home, nothing had ever been harmful in any way.

That must not have assured them any because they moved out before they even got married (I think they only lived there 4 months). Over the next 6 years we watched the house get bought and sold over 15 times, no one ever lasted more than a few months. :-?

Funny thing is, ghosts or no ghosts, I would move back into that house in a heartbeat. I loved it!

My sister swears that our mom's house is haunted. Everytime she stays there she hears foot steps & creaking of the floor. When she goes to check on our mom is sound asleep.

I dont think I have.. .what I felt were certain things of that sort, but I dont believe in ghosts, so I think it was just me....

Ive had some strange encounters so to speak, it's hard to believe that you can come back and be a wandering ghost. I think if there is something eg orbs strange things happening, then its something outside our solar system that we cant see, or something along those lines :D

You've been watching too much Most Haunted!!!

I have had similar experiences to Sunshines. But I still live in the house.

One time, around midnight, I was asleep, and I woke up for no reason. I swear someone sat down at the foot of my bed. But when I looked, nothing. It has happend a few times after that. I do think my house is haunted, but not by bad ghosts. My house used to be a telephone company building. After that, it belonged to this older couple, and while the man didnt die here, I think his ghost still is here.

Not sure about actual ghosts but I definitely believe that someone "comes to get you" when it's your turn to pass on. Two weeks before my mum died she told me about a dream she'd had. She said she knew it must be a dream but it seemed too real. She was lying in bed (middle of the night) and her feet were cold. My dad then sat on the end of the bed and warmed them up for her. Considering my dad died in 1975, this was quite an accomplishment as my mum died unexpectedly in 2003!!!

I've heard other people saying similar things. Must admit, my stomach gave a lurch when she told me this story and sure enough, not long afterwards, she left me

I have found that with some people, the only way to ever get the last word is to converse with them after they are dead...Sorry...That was mean...I must be on a mean streak lately...Although NOBODY wants to see me streak...Pass the Ritalin...

On the contrary, the dead usually get the last word. That's because those of us here in mortality are usually shocked to hear from them. I've learned to get over that. Fear is what you get when common sense leaves you. Churchill told me that. The other day, in fact, he said that.

You're right, Jay. No one wants to see you streak.

My favorite Winston Churchill quote!

"History is just one dam thing after another..."

Man am I a name dropper today...I'm as Bad as Randy Jackson...Did you know he worked with Mariah?

When my wife and I moved to Ozark 6 years ago we rented this little old house. Drafty and kinda run down but it was cheap and had a fence for our dogs. We took about 2 months to move in so it was a long ordeal. Anyway, we were laying in bed when we heard a bunch of dishes crash to the floor in the kitchen. It was loud. We figured one of our cats were exploring and broke them. We ran in there and nothing. Nothing was out of place. We stayed there 3 years and often heard noises like that. The dogs and cats always acted weird in 2 of the rooms. The kitchen and the room right next to it.
Sometimes they acted is if something had pulled on their tails or something.

Nothing huge but it seemed to me that there was something in that house. It didn't seem evil but cantankerous would be a better word. I "sensed" it was female whatever it was. Well we moved and later found out that an old lady had died in the house years before. After we moved out our animals started acting normal again.

We live in an old parsonage built in 1912. We definately have something here. In days of yore, they would have funerals in our living room. I'm not afarid of it, but things get moved, doors open or close when no one is around.

About 9 years ago my cousin who was 13 years old passed away, he had muscular dystrophy but he passed from complications of pneumonia. He was one of my favorite cousins, So maybe two months before he passed away I was asleep on my bed and I woke up and saw a little boy waving good bye to me, I was freaked out and I kept rubbing my eyes and it was still there. I told my cousins mother and she said maybe it was him telling me good bye.

I dont know if any of you guys ever heard of the Winchester mystery house story that one is really cool if you ever get a chance to read about it.
