Halloween Goodies

What type of Halloween Goodies will you be handing out this year?

Has your child, or have you made received, or gave out something rather than the typical candy?

My child has received containers of juice and cans of soda pop, that is about the least typical thing she has gotten. We don't give out anything other than store-bought candy, and never any homemade goodies. Probably Tootie Rolls, Dum-Dums, and Bubble Gum this year.

Kids (and a few daft adults including my self) dress up and go tricking or treating
Usually over here they get sweets or apples or sometimes money
We dont make the same effort there is very little decoration.
It is kinda getting better . 5 years ago you wood not have seen a decoration for halloween now there is a few about

No one comes trick or treating where we live, but we always give out goodies to family, and friends. We had done presents instead of just treats, but also include candies. This year so far, I had gotten Mounds, Kit Kat, Snickers, Dum Dums, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, little Gummi Bears, those chocolate crispy coins....

I had already put out some Halloween decorations, and will put our more soon.

As for things that are different then your typical candy bars my kids have recieved pencils, apples, and PEZ dispenser. Nothing so unusual here.

I just hand out candy but I always keep bottled water and lots of plastic grocery sacks on hand.

I will get kids from time to time coming to the door asking for a drink of water so I have bottles of water to give them.

Sometimes you will see kids trick or treating with bags that are either too full to add more or starting to tear. I will offer them a grocery sacks so they can continue down the block for more candy instead of having to go back home for another one.

My kids have received little party favor type toys on Halloween.

That is very nice of you to offer bottled water. I know that when I go trick or treating with my kids, I am always having to carry those heavy bottles, and with the flashlight, jackets, candies.... things do get heavy.

Can kids there receive actual homemade stuff and get to eat it?

Here in the states no one will let their kids eat homemade treats anymore, so there's basically no point in even making/handing it out. Boo.

I'm in the northwest of England and in my town we love celebrating . We have lots of trick or treaters and almost every house has Halloween decorations and pumpkins!

I still need to go shopping for sweets but I'll be handing out Haribos, Chu Chu Pops, mini twix, mars, snickers and chocolate coins. I spotted some mini packs of cookies in the shops the other day that looked like a good idea to.

This year we got blow pops,butterfingers,resse peanut butter cups,nerds,and crunch...one year a neighbor was giving out hot chocolate and hot dogs.there wouldn't have been a problem with the hot chocolate since we knew them but they had like 20 cats and there would be cat hair in the cups so that was a no no.

I miss the days when my kids were young enough to go trick or treating. As for giving out candy, I'm not sure if we even have any kids that come around here. This is only our second year here and last year we weren't home I guess I will some candy just in case
