Ron Havens has a reputation for provocative Halloween displays that reflect his strong political views. But even Havens was pretty sure his latest effort was over the top. That didn’t stop him from setting it up in plain sight anyway. Havens this week set up a Halloween display featuring mannequins that look like Democratic presidential candidate Barack [...]

I have to say...it really depends on which side You are....I agree with this guy...but have seen on this board that most people who are in favor of McCain see it the other way around....so in the end...well...who we like...I would like to see a picture of that.....I also have to say....so far...there haven´t been huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge dissings in the capaigns...on both sides...

i have to write something about my own post....

I think in the beginning when Obama was sure to be the guy for the democrats...it looked like what the guy in the link said.....when Sarah Palin came into the picture...it was the other way around...so in the end...it´s even I think...

yeah....it´s both...but he uses Halloween to make his statement...

Personally, I think that is totally distasteful.

Isn't the KKK a bunch of racist people who need to have since knocked into their brains. I seriously think the KKK is just a bunch of crap.

People are going to have a different opinion on different things. I mean like everybody has their favorite candidate and everyone wants their favorite to win and be the best. If I were old enough to vote I'd vote for McCain and Palin.
Now whenever the guy is sayng in his story that John McCain is calling Barack Obama a Muslum well it's true. Obama is a Muslum. I am not saying that cause McCain said it, but because he really is. That is just his religion and the way he was raised. Nobody should be judgemental about it or anything. But as far as the terrorist part goes.... I am not real sure if he is or not. I know he's associated with other terrorists, but so what. Now I'm not taking Barack Obama's side. There are things about him that just doesn't make him seem so great. But that is just my OPINION. So please no one get upset about this.

Just for clarification:
Barack Obama is a Christian, his father and grandfather were Muslim.

I think the display is stupid and I don't think there is anything funny about it. It is just giving attention to the KKK whether it had been intended to do so or not.

yup...just wanted to say that too...bout Obama not being a Muslim.....

I was going to reply, but I don't want to start a debate. I would like to keep the peace.

So nevermind.

thanx for the link Jana....but what is written below describes it all....I actually don´t think it´s muslim attire...but rather what is being worn over there....looking at his past, where he has lived, his heritage...it´s obvious he has had lots of contact to other religions as well....He´s still Christian....I actually find it very cool he knows bout all those big religions....if he becomes president...he might be able to undestand the needs for everyone...especially in outside politics.

The thing bout Obama being a Muslim...there´s nothing bad about being muslim...they it was said just made it seem like he was a terrorist/fundamentalist...and that´s the bad part...if it wasn´t the intention of the Republicans...alright...if so...that´s a shame....just like the smearing of Sarah Palin is, btw

sorry...I didn´t want to hijack the thread...and don´t want to hurt nobody either....I just thought I throw in my two cents as well...:D
but isn´t it possible to put the last few posts into the Sarah Palin thread?

I thought I've seen that picture somewhere. I just don't remember where, but that's from when I was told he is a muslum. But I don't really think relgion has anything to do with the election. So why does it matter?

sen obama has a diverse history. he attends a very devout christian church here in chicago (some of my friends attend there, it is a very strong christian church).

his father, from what i understand, was muslim (i think, feel free to correct me) and of course, sen obama pays respect to the culture which he is visiting, i think. similarly to first lady laura bush wearing a head covering when she visited with the pope - but she is not a roman catholic.

religion does not matter to me. i really appreciate the diversity of the united states.

...

that said, this display is extremely distasteful. the mccain campaign has never said obama is a terorrist or a muslim, and john mccain has denounced these allegations and those who spread them repeatedly. for shame, this man. i find his views to be extreme, and most people i talk to to be fairly reasonable.

both campaigns have been fairly civil. this is one of the least smearing elections in years.

reports of mccain supporters yelling "kill him!" and such have been found to be untrue by the FBI. many rumors about palin and obama have been spreading on the blogosphere and it's unfortunate that many people believe them to be true.
