Hi Everyone!

So I was on the forums before but life got in the way, I got side tracked and now here I am again.

Im Sam, aka Skippy.
I turned the big 4 - 0 this year.
Im based down here in South Wales.
My two kids are now all grown up (well mostly) at 20 and 14.
Married to a wonderful man who has put up with me for 22 years, and this September 26th see's our 10th wedding anniversary.
I love Christmas - its my favorite time of the year - and crafting, prepping and just the season fills me with joy but this year will be the most important yet for my little family.

We have had a fairly good year but have been rocked the last few months so I feel like Christmas this year will be all the more important for us.
My FIL is losing his fight with cancer, despite battling and beating bowel cancer twice, chemotherapy twice, having part of his lung removed, his bowel removed and a stoma fitted, catching covid twice, cancer spreading to his lung, a serious chest infection and double pneumonia and now as far as treatment for the cancer goes they are out of options and he has made the call to stop all treatment. Hes just tired and cant do it anymore.
We have him home at the minute on oxygen 24/7 and receiving palliative care.
If he makes Christmas, it will sadly be his last.

So I will be looking for all the hints, tips, tricks, ideas, songs, new foods etc to try and make this one as organised and memorable as possible and hopefully share some laughs, Christmas cheer, some festive memories, a whole lot of carolling and good times along the way with you whilst we just take it one day at a time.

:-)

We're glad you found your way back to MMC, @SKIPPY !

I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Bless his heart, I'll be praying for him, as well as you and your family.

Welcome back Skippy!!!

So good to meet you, Skippy! I am glad you are here and taking the time for self-care... MMC is a great way to enjoy self-care.

Hello,

I'm from South Wales too. I haven't been here for years either.

Welcome back Skippy. Glad to see you decided to join us again. I've been MIA since earlier in the year too. I always take a break from the forum soon after the holidays only to come on again in the Fall. Sorry to hesr about your FIL. I will keep him and your family in my prayer!
