If you're like me, you sometimes get tired of the same old Christmas music and like to have something fresh, something different, something with a little kick! And being a (sometimes) comedian I wanted to put a comedy spin on it and make the kind of Christmas album I wanted to hear but wasn't hearing anywhere.
But don't take it from me, take it from earlier me when I did a write-up:
"Original, funny Christmas music with a deep respect and love of the genre.
With a massive collection of Christmas vinyl LPs, 45s, 78s and even a couple of effin' Edison cylinders, Adam Kennedy mixes his vast knowledge of the variety and history of seasonal music with his unique, sometimes surreal sense of humor to create a full-length album of fantastically absurd, brand-spanking-new holiday songs.
Bored with the lackluster, lame-o offerings of simple "spoof" Christmas songs where somebody merely changes the words of, "Jingle Bells" to "Jingle Balls" or "Silver Bells" to "Phil Silvers Smells" (Although that one might actually be alright) Adam tasked himself with the challenge of writing, producing and (somewhat poorly) singing a full-length, album-oriented, original Christmas comedy record with zero spoofs and zero "Christmas hating bummer tunes."
Like the meltwater off a swath of slightly too-warm gutter icicles Adam trickles various Christmas sub-genres throughout this album: a drip of Rockabilly here, a drop of funk there; a bloop of pop to the right, a sploosh of bossa nova to the left. Not to mention an absolute deluge of etc.
Always placing 1st in any locally sanctioned Christmas Trivia Quiz, Adam sprinkles in "lil Christmas inside jokies" as an extra treat for those of us with mulled wine running through our veins.
So why not literally shrink down into Adam's Christmas village and prepare for something a little different."
