You should definitely come for a visit. It is a great place with a lot to offer...great and unique food, architecture, music, etc. Although most of the city is still a disaster area, the tourist areas look like Katrina never happened for the most part. It's a good time to visit as hotels are priced lower to attract more visitors and everyone will be happy to see you.

I visited New Orleans in 1999 and loved it! I got to see one of my favorite authors, Anne Rice's house, when she still had one there. I even have a pic of the outside! I can't wait to go back!
