Welcome! Nothing weird about a year round Christmas room. It's when you break the boundaries of the room where things get weird. I have a long term project that will have Christmas trains running through out the house. We're in the negotiating stage -- like of like arms talks. It's taking years but I know eventually we will get there.

Welcome!
Your zeal for Christmas is awesome! While I would love to have a year round room, I do get to keep one decoration up year round. We have a Santa head plaque, above the entry way from the living room to the kitchen, that stays up all year. It happened on accident a couple of years ago and my wife agreed to leave it up all year. We get strange looks from guests when they notice it.

My wife keeps a tight rein on it leaving my room, but she does keep the house decorated into January. We start whole house decorating the 1st weekend of November, its strange because I find her and the kids frequent the den more than I do after Xmas.

We start decorating pretty early too. We have been known to put up one of our many Christmas trees on Halloween night. Our beggar's night is usually before Halloween itself. I tend to have the Friday on of the first weekend in November off, so I start the inside decorating process then and we take through the weekend. The outside stuff goes up shortly thereafter. Then, Thanksgiving weekend we cut down our real tree.

We tend to take things down fairly quickly after Christmas. We are both teachers and we like to have the decorations put away before we go back to school.

So true!!
Talk about festive, I'm sure it brings instant joy and peace every time you enter it.

Welcome to the fun!

Welcome! Having a Christmas den sounds like a wonderful idea.
Glad to have you here!

Welcome, McGunny, to the MMC community. Happy to hear you love Christmas so much. If I was a single man I'd keep my house decorated for Christmas year-round, but I am a happily married man nonetheless. Listening to Christmas music is always in season. Merry Christmas!
