Hello Everyone. I am new to this site and thought that I should introduce myself. I joined this site because Christmas in its true meaning is something that I have recently discovered. I know that Christmas means different things to different people, so I never understood the true meaning until recently. I used to believe that christmas was just about the gifts...probably a side effect from being the only child in my family and always getting whatever I wanted. Now i am a single mother of a 2 (soon to be 3 year old) and have realized that I was way wrong in thoughts about christmas, now i believe otherwise. I dont think it is about the gifts. To me now, it is everything about much more. Its not the gifts that are given but the entire package. Its the lights and the decorations, the snow and the spirit that I feel. I am not a religious person so to try to put everything into the view of Jesus' birth doesnt work for me. I think about it in terms that I understand like to peace and joy, the faith and hope. The giving of what you can to the people who may not be able to give as much. I am not going to say my view is right or wrong but I know that what I feel at christmas time...is what I want to feel all year long, so that I can keep the good will and magical feeling all year long.
