LOL, we thought about Kevin's Mom. We also thought about maybe imagining what the mother of the Grinch must have been like but decided, in the end, not to go there....

There's George Bailey's mom, too ... we forget what a warm, loving presence she has been in George's life until he is "unborn" and we see her as a hard, embittered widow.

And when Father's Day comes along ... I nominate George's father. Jimmy Stewart (or was it Frank Capra?) said of Samuel S. Hinds in the role: "He's so perfect he looks like TWO fathers."
