Makin' A Comeback!
MMC Lifer
I don't usually get my turkey on very early or at any specific time, usually between 9am and 11 am. I was just wondering when everyone else sticks their birds in the oven.

Depends if I'm doing a whole turkey or just the breast. A whole turkey goes in as soon as I get up in the morning and have time to clean it, dress it and pop it in the oven.
A Turkey breast is not so much of a rush but I like to get it in as soon as I can and if it's done before everything else is ready, I put it in my crock pot (love those crock pots) to keep it warm.
Crock pots work very well to keep whipped potatoes warm too.

We get it clean and ready the night before and place it in a cooking bag. Usually 7 or 8 am Thanksgiving morning we pop it in the oven. I have been cooking it in a cooking bag for 15 years, it comes out perfect every time.

I usually put the turkey in around midnight or a little later...depending on what time I'm able to get to bed. I cook it on low so it can cook slowly and when everyone wakes up they wake up to the smell of turkey! Then in the morning I turn the heat up and check it, etc. While it's cooking we all open our gifts. By lunch it's ready. Everyone had it early afternoon, then they all flake out for the afternoon, evening everyone seems to come back from their naps our out of hiding and we enjoy a relaxing evening together.

I put the Turkey in the oven at 2 PM
In three hours! :)
Dinner served at 5 PM

pretty much whenever I feel like it. there is no set time now that it is just three of us and no company. I haven't started anything yet, so it will be a late dinner this year.

I put it in the roaster at 10:40 and it was done at 4:00, not bad for a 24+lb turkey.
