Herb Alpert

Herb AlpertFans of trumpeter Herb Alpert have waited 50 long years – okay, well, 49 long years – for the follow up to his 1968 LP, Christmas Album.

On September 29th, Alpert releases the long-rumored holiday album titled The Christmas Wish. And it not Herb alone either – he’s got a host of friends in a 45-piece orchestra, a 10-piece rhythm section and a 32-member choir.

That sounds suspiciously like the ingredients of his first Christmas album which dropped on the 16th of December 1968 – and rocketed to the top of Billboard’s Christmas chart.

Here is what we get this time around:

The Christmas Wish – Herb Alpert (With Symphony And Choir)

01 – Joy to the World / Silver Bells Medley
02 – Let It Snow / Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ” Medley
03 – Santa Baby
04 – Carol of the Bells / We Wish You a Merry Christmas ” Medley
05 – I’ll Be Home for Christmas
06 – Silent Night
07 – Winter Wonderland
08 – Merry Christmas, Darling
09 – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
10 – The Christmas Wish
11 – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
12 – The Christmas Song
13 – White Christmas
14 – What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?
15 – Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring

And lest we forget how great the first album was, here’s a replay:
