Help with Operation Christmas Cheer
Our 21st Annual Operation Christmas Cheer campaign is underway and we can use your help.
What is Operation Christmas Cheer? It is a simple community effort to send Christmas cards to those shut-in, ill, maybe a little sad or just having a hard time this Christmas. It never fails to cheer weary hearts and for some, well, it makes their Christmas.
There are two way to help with this effort.
First, submit a name of someone you know who needs Christmas cards. There are no qualifications to sign up someone and, of course, no cost involved. Just tell us a name and an address and the cards will go out.
Second, if you want to receive the list when it is ready, please sign up to receive it so you can send cards to those on our list. Sign-up here.
And that’s it. Simple love. That’s all we really want for Christmas anyway, isn’t it?
This grand tradition started more than two decades ago when folks on the Merry Forums found out about a situation where just simple good cheer was needed. We rallied together and sent dozen of Christmas cards to one person under medical duress one Christmas.
The effort paid off handsomely.
We figured, if we could do this for one person, what was stopping us from helping several in this way?
So we did it. And we did it again. And we’ve continued now on this cheery mission for 21 consecutive years.
My Mom received these cards at a time when she could no long send out Christmas cards. It meant the world to her to receive them. That seems to be the universal response.
Do your heart some good by participating in this simple effort.
