Do They Know It’s Christmas Gets Reworked for Ebola

The words to ‘Do They Know it’s Christmas’ has been reworked to address the Ebola virus.

Bob Geldof and Midge Ure who organized the original hit thirty years ago, were present at a Notting Hill recording studio earlier to oversee the production of the remake. Stars like Rita Ora, One Direction’s, Harry Styles and a host of other musicians have been in the West London studio putting the final touches to the single which is being released shortly.

It will keep most of its original lyrics, but several lines have been altered to describe the disease which is currently affecting West Africa. The original song came out to raise funds towards the famine relief in Ethiopia. However, this version is collecting money to ease West Africa’s Ebola crisis.

The track is expected to have its debut on Sunday’s edition of X-Factor. It features a host of stars including One Direction, Emeli Sande, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding and many more.
