Christmas Countdown - 2018

Happy Friday Eve!!
I didn't get a chance to log on yesterday, I had to take my Dad for hernia surgery. He had to be there for 11:30 but he didn't get into surgery until 2:30. So by the time I got him home and went to CVS for his pain meds, I didn't get home until almost 8. I spoke with him this morning and he is said he is doing well and not in too much pain.
Work for me today and then catching up on laundry tonight.

Has anyone else noticed that is it getting darker earlier?

Of course! It is also getting light later. No biggie, though, as we still have over 14 hours of daylight.

It's another sticky day here, with a mix of sun and clouds. Rain later this afternoon/evening. I can't wait for this humidity to get lost
I am looking forward to opening the windows up and turning the air off.

It's Adi's and my 10th wedding anniversary today!!
Time sure flies when you're having fun~ We plan to celebrate more with a nice dinner out soon.

Work, errands, and a small celebratory dinner at home tonight. Our neighbor friends dropped off some bubbly, so maybe we'll crack that open.

Harlowe is ready for some cooler weather, too. She loves sitting on the deck in the evenings, but can only tolerate it for so long right now.

Not a dog expert, but ... if she has a ton of toys, maybe put a few out at a time and rotate them so she doesn't get bored with them? Maybe she's just looking for something "new" to play with---if so, rotating the toys might help.

We have a "toy box" that all of her toys are in. She has access to any of them that she wants...and believe me - you will find them all over our TV room floor & our sunroom floor!! She doesn't seem to have a favorite - she changes from day to day what she pulls out. She's just a piece of work!!!! LOL!!!

I thought so!! Maybe this is an adjustment period?

I know Harlowe was very active at nights when she was younger, especially when Adi and I were at work most of the day. Like you said, they sleep a lot then. She may have some energy to burn! Do you take regular evening walks?

No, but we need to start taking her out more. She was going to the farm to run but now w/ her incision she's supposed to be behaving. I have this plantar fasciitis going on, so it's hard to walk too far. We'll get back in he swing! I really think she's just retaliating b/c we put her through that surgery!! LOL!! At lunch when I got home she had both of Jims leather sandals in the middle of the tv room floor. She went upstairs, drug them down...and she had 1 chewed up!!! She's SOOOOO lucky she's cute!!!!

She is a little thief!!
Leo is also a hoarder...we find stuff underneath beds too that he steals and drags under them..I bought my oldest daughter a package of pens for school and he took the bag off her desk and they were under the bed. He didn't get into the package but I think he initially thought it was food...

This also made me laugh out loud! Awe Leo!!! ♥ Good thing he didn't get into the pens/ink on your floor!
And it's funny b/c I texted my hubby at lunch & told him "She is a little THIEF!!" LOL

Good Thursday morning! A day off for me and a cool down in temperatures, it feels nice this morning. I can wear shoes without much pain again so I'll go for a nice long walk with Loki today. Other than that I just need to rest. My chronic lack of sleep is starting to get to me. I will talk with a pharmacist about ZZZquil or other non-habit-forming options to help me sleep better. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Praying your sleeping pattern gets back to normal! I have been taking melatonin for the past seven months ~ it has done wonders for me. Have a merry day!

It’s going to be hot and humid with highs near 90 degrees. My youngest has two routine doctor appointments today, I’m going to tag along to keep her company. I’ll be working on my daily chores in between. My mother is also stopping by later this afternoon to have tea & cookies with us Dinner will be shrimp scampi over linguini. That’s about it for me. Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!! I'm sooo tired today! Our friends who share their wedding Anniversary with Jim's birthday wanted to go out to celebrate last night! Well it was a lot of fun - we were home a little after 11, but neither one of us wanted to wake up this morning! It was raining/dreary...GREAT morning for sleeping in! Ah well...here I am! He is going out for breakfast with our lake neighbor & then to a casino! Sounds like trouble to me! (and more fun than working...)
Just work for me today. Tonight we have a funeral viewing for our neighbors Dad. UGH! That's about it for me!

That is a good idea, Merry! We did that with my dad's dog, Bruno. He had a milk crate full of toys and he easily got bored so we would pull a different one out for him every now and then. The other thing we did was to give him one of Dad's old tennis shoes to chew on ~ he loved that!

Merry Thursday!

A bit cooler here with a chance for showers later. It has been mostly cloudy today and every now and then the breeze blows in the window ~ so refreshing during this still humid day!

Not much going on out this way. Hoping to get out to the Cheeseburger Festival in Caseville tomorrow to look for garage sales. It is the last weekend of the festival, supposed to be cooler and a bit less humid, and there is a good chance to find deals. I've never been to the fest, but I hear it is a blast.
