We no longer have a land line either. We still have our old land line # but the service is through Verizon Wireless! It is a little sad to see that Era gone!
We'll still have a landline ... it'll just be fiber-optic instead of old-fashioned copper!

Our friend advised us to keep the copper because you could still get a dial tone when the electricity goes out, even if cell service is down. Now we won't have that, but I understand we're supposed to get a battery backup with the fiber-optic box that would give us a few hours of phone service if the power goes out.

It's the end of an era ... our landline phone service went out Friday, and they just got around to fixing it today. Only it isn't fixed, because we were the last ones on the copper line, and (of course) they won't dig up the street to repair the wiring when only one house's service is out. So no more copper service on our street; we're going to have to switch to fiber-optic. We hung onto the copper as long as we possibly could, on the advice of a good friend of ours---who was a longtime Verizon employee. But the ravages of time have taken their toll at last. Goodbye, faithful old copper!

Oddly enough, our cordless landline phones' screens died a couple days before, so we have a new cordless phone set standing by for when we're back on line.
We finally closed our old AT&T landline. It seemed a little scary to let it go; we'd had the same number since we got married. But we were always losing or breaking the wireless part, and we seldom used it at all. There was no way to justify paying $60 a month for a service we never used.

Now we're cell only, and it hasn't been a problem yet.

Wow that's crazy!!! Amazing how fast things have changed.....
Well, it didn't happen SO fast! For several years, anytime we had an outage they tried to push us into switching to fiber-optic, but we wouldn't give up our copper. Now that we're the last ones on a dead copper line, we have no choice. So it's been a long time coming, and finally caught up with us.

I hope it all works out well for you!! xx

Good for you! I know that's what the future will be, but we haven't gotten there yet. Mr. still has a flip-phone (not a smartphone).

I hope it all works out well for you!! xx
Thanks! I got some information from Verizon yesterday, just in case, and they indicated we would be switched for free if our copper turned out to be un-repairable, and that we would get a battery back-up with it. Let's see if they'll stick to that now that we're actually going for it!

Awwww sheesh, that just reminded me that I put laundry in the washing machine Saturday afternoon... uggghh, I totally forgot all about it! Looks like I will be washing that load of laundry all over again tonight as well.
HAHA!! I have done this before too!
Good Morning, MMC~

Hope you're all having a nice morning so far.

It's a typical day of work for me today, and a few errands at lunch.
Harlowe is at the groomer this morning. I am looking forward to Adi sending me a photo of her, knowing that she is back home. She gets so anxious there.

There is definitely a change in the weather, it was a damp & cool morning. Still quite humid but hopefully that breaks soon. 70's for the next few days, and highs only in the 60's on Friday. Back to the upper 80's by Saturday, though.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Hope you are having a good Tuesday, SF!!

Thank you, SFM!!
It's going pretty well, thanks!

Hope your day is, too!! =]

I went to Home Goods earlier, and I want just about everything there. Love their seasonal décor, especially!

That's too bad, hope that changes back to the way she used to feel!
I hope so too. She doesn't hate it, she just doesn't want to come out of the crate for Kelly. LOL

Today I saw my first glimpse of fall here in FL.... a steak and shake ad for pumpkin spice and caramel apple milk shakes ! They are also offering s'mores, but isn't that more of a summer thing?
That's exciting!!

I'd say it's a summer & Fall thing :)

Thanks everyone. They already found an apartment they love. Their application was accepted and they sign the lease tomorrow. I can not believe how fast this is happening. The apartment is only about 10-15 minutes away from me. They are super excited, I’m happy for them.

It's nice that they aren't going to be that far away. {{{HUGS}}}

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I see that @Meceka needs some rain, but we've been getting flooded on every evening all summer, and last night was no exception. We were told that rain is unlikely for the next few days, but it sure fell in buckets last night. And, of course, Elizabeth is driving every evening going to play practice. Scares us to death!

I have a busy day ahead of me. I hope y'all have a great day! :D

My goodness, that is a lot of rain ~ I hope it eases up where you are and soon! Keeping Elizabeth in my prayers for safe travels. Have a merry day!

Good Milestone Week Morning, Friends!

Yep. Later this week, we will encounter another ** MILESTONE DAY **.
But for now, we will have to let the anticipation be our guide and motivation.

In that regard, we present this:
Days to the Season: 84
Days to Christmas Day: 126

And as a further inducement to anticipation, we declare that as of today, we are a scant FOUR days away from the 2/3 marker to Christmas Day 2018.
Barely over HALF A WEEK!
(How can we have moved so far so fast?)

We had four inches of rain fall overnight with flooding in parts of Raleigh but not where we live. When will we get out of this monsoon season we seem to be in?
Well, the weather service says by tomorrow. (And we will hold them to it!)
For today, we have again started out overcast with a temperature reading of 74 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday Folks, while visions of Pines Day tomorrow dance in your heads!

Thank you, Crown. I hope the rain eases up where you are, too! Have a merry day!
