Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning everyone. Oh yes, it's so nice to be on the downhill side of the work week.

This morning, as I was having my first cup of coffee at home, I looked out my back window and there were 3 young does standing there, munching on the grass and our hibiscus tree leaves. They looked very healthy and beautiful. Watched them for about 10 minutes before they went back into the woods. Yesterday morning when I left the house, there were 2 turkeys just standing there in my neighbors front yard, watching me drive by. I'm totally just loving the wildlife around here. And how about that bear that outside of my office, huh? Now that, was pretty awesome!

Sounds like a nice view! I've been watching a couple of "fox squirrels" near my house, trying to get a chance to take a picture. They're so much prettier than a regular gray squirrel.

For anyone here that is a Star Trek fan (like me), I just found out that Patrick Stewart is developing a new Star Trek series in conjunction with the Discovery Channel for a new Star Trek series. Patrick Stewart or Rod Roddenberry may end up being the executive producer. they say that it is in the works, its super secretive "draped in a thick veil of secrecy" and that it may be 3-5 years out before it comes to TV.

Here is a clip from the news article I discovered this morning;

"Story-wise, there’ve been rumblings that Stewart’s second coming will follow Jean-Luc Picard as he takes his next steps in Starfleet, perhaps rising through the ranks to become a senior official like an admiral or a diplomat. And as The Daily Dot so rightly points out, while CBS is yet to name any directors for this newfangled series, Jonathan Frakes is practically a shoo-in, with characters from Deep Space Nine and Voyager expected to feature.

This is merely a tip of the iceberg, of course, as CBS is expected to roll out more details about Patrick Stewart’s return to Star Trek in the coming months."

I am so excited to hear about all this! Ya-Hoo!!!!

More rain fell after I last posted yesterday so I think the total was around 3/4". Yay!! It was a good soaking rain, but I don't know if it will make a difference in the level of drought this area is experiencing.

Morning MMC. We have a bit of an early Bers Preview here with the weather too. Low 60s and low humidity this morning. Fresh air feels good. Been a humid summer. 4 days off for me but today is being spent with the mechanic putting new brakes on my car and going to the dentist for a minor filling that needs to be fixed. Have a great Thursday aka Friday Eve!

That doesn't sound like a great day off. I hope both appointments go good & fast & you get to enjoy the rest of your day!

Good Morning, Over-the-Hump Holiday Chasers!

Past the peak-of-the-week we are indeed, and cruising in toward the pending weekend.
But our next Milestone is doing more than cruising. It is rushing up on us like a scared reindeer.

Here are today's figures:
Days to the Season: 82
Days to Christmas Day: 124

And that onrushing marker?
Well, it's the TWO-THIRDS point to Christmas Day and it's now only TWO days off.
(So close, you could almost reach out and touch it with a short candy cane!)

Well, that 20 percent chance of rain yesterday happened, as we had a bit of a downpour in the late afternoon.
Today, at last, shows a 0 percent prediction. (And that will be a welcome change!)
Our current temperature reading is 75 degrees here in the capital county.

I am taking my daughter to her soccer tryouts this morning and then just a typical day of work for me. I took Monday off so I am looking forward to a long weekend.

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

I went back to my brother's house to help him move his furniture back in after his new carpet was installed. Boy, he has some heavy furniture! I had to dip in the pool again last night when I got home. LOL

The boss is out of town today, and, I have to say, it's nice to not have a staff meeting this morning. I can knock-out my first few cups of coffee, and get started on the job quicker...AFTER the coffee.

Beautiful picture! But I love all squirrels. There is one in my area that was born without a tail and missing one leg. We named it "Stumpy" and it's always a joy when we spot it.

Good Thursday morning! A day off for me, a beautiful one too with bright sunshine, warm temps and low humidity. David just had a follow-up appointment at the doctor's and now we're off grocery shopping before his physio this afternoon. I have tons of laundry to do, I skipped doing a load this weekend as I usually do and it seems to have piled up. The o chore. Then I want to bake some cupcakes to sell at work to help support the Sunshine Foudation for which we are raising money at the cash registers. For once it's not too hot to bake! Hope everyone enjoys their day!

It’s going to be a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 80 degrees. It’s been cooling off more at night, we’re supposed to drop in to the 50’s tonight which is nice. I’m going to visit my father soon. I have to run a couple of quick errands afterward. Then I need to work on the laundry, I’m falling behind. I want to help my daughter pack, tomorrow is her move in day. I’m going to cook an early dinner as well to get it over with because I’ll be heading back to the hospital again later this evening. That’s about it for me.
