Christmas Countdown - 2018

Happy Monday MMC! Yes, it is a happy Monday even though I am going back to work after 4 days off. I feel well-rested and the fact the BERS start Saturday is awesome. And of course, a 3 day weekend is ahead for many of us with Labor Day. Have a great Monday as we go through the last week of August!

Good Monday morning! A few hot and humid days coming up but a cool down expected later this week. I’m counting down the days till my vacation which starts Friday at 9:30pm (I was supposed to work a day shift but a coworker has plays his last baseball game of the season tjat evening so I agreed to switch with him). It will be a very busy week for me as I have to train over 20 of our employees on a new task. I just hope things go smoothly and I don’t have to work many 12-hour days to get my work done as well. Have a great day everyone!

Well, August is going out kickin'. This week is going to be a hot one. Around 30C (mid 80s F) for most of the week with a high humidity. We're off to visit some friends today and was told to bring our swimming gear. So we'll have a chance to cool off a bit.

Yesterday was a bit slow. Only made some shortbread cookies, honey banana bread, and some chocolate chip zucchini loaf. That last one went over well with the church group. I add nutmeg and allspice to my loaf.

Keep cool all and remember the 'bers are almost upon us.

Days to Christmas Day: 120

And it is with even greater pleasure that I advise my fellow MMC citizens that we are now UNDER three weeks away from the 100-day Christmas Day Window and the commencement of a double-double digit count, which in turn means we begin to shift into high gear as the holidays draw nigh.
(Exciting times, n'est pas?)

It was warmer and more humid yesterday but still rather nice for late August, with no rain.
Today and this week will see summer make a quick return visit before the 'bers begin this weekend.
Our beginning temperature reading for today is 71 degrees.

Merry Monday MMC ~
It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 85 degrees. I’m heading out soon, Rocky has a groomer appointment this morning. I’m going to run a couple of errands while he’s there. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. I also have plans to go over to my youngest daughters apartment to help her do a few things, she’s still unpacking. I’d love to see her get completely settled in over the next few days before her Fall semester starts. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!

Good Sunday evening everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Today was the annual Fantasy Football Draft with my family. It is something I look forward to every year! I think this is our 15th year? Somewhere around there. We had some great food (this years menu was pepperoni pizza and white pizza with grilled chicken, fried chicken, cookies, chips, scarecrow crunch, which is a mixture of many different fall themed snacks in little bags, and a dessert that is a MUST for every draft, it is originally called snack mix squares but one year it was really humid and it didn't set up properly so someone called it "moisty" and the name moisty mix just stuck! Every draft day the first question asked is "did you make the moisty mix?" One of our traditions now!). I just love the friendly trash talking we all do each draft day. But most importantly, I love seeing all of my nephews. We have such a great time with them! Here's hoping I actually win more than one or two games this year!!

LOL moisty mix, I love it! Your menu sounds amazing (especially the fried chicken part!)!!! My family doesn't watch football , but I always look forward to all the excitement and good food sales in the stores lol. We also live across the street from a high school and I remember when we moved into our new home last fall and we had to windows open to let the cool breeze in and we could hear the marching band play . When does the first game of the season actually start for the NFL ?

WOOHOO!!! Thanks Crown! I can't believe the BERS are almost here!!!!


Today is a pretty typical Monday for me... getting chores and work done. Last night we went over to my parents house to see my grandma (shes staying with them for 3 weeks) and also saw my brother and his girlfriend. I brought over some homemade cookies and everyone loved them!
This evening we have to take Gandalf to the vet, I am SO nervous for him... I didn't get any sleep last night worrying. The vet suspects its a condition called mega esophagus from the sound of his reoccurring symptoms but I hope it's nothing serious and he will get through it.

I've been to our daily staff meeting this morning, and had two LARGE coffees, so I'm ready to get going. We welcomed our new safety manager this morning. Our current safety manager is retiring, and we're all sorry to see him leave; he's a great guy. And I'm a little jealous...I'll never be able to retire LOL!

It'll be hot for the foreseeable future, but it never really starts to cool off in southeast Georgia until mid to late October. Still, it'll be the BERs!!

We just had a wicked thunderstorm! It’s going to be hot and humid here in Ontario. I’m heading up north with my sister for a couple of days. I think we’ll be getting a lot of rain, oh well. Any time away with my sister is “good” time away!

It's supposed to be in the mid 90's Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week before the temperatures head back to the 70-80's. If it's that hot in Connecticut, I can't imagine how hot it's gotta feel like in Georgia!

Yea buddy! I'm with you on that Brad. I would love to retire today and yet still have that same paycheck come in the mail. But, I'm not holding my breath till that happens. I goota a feeling that I'm going to be working till I'm 90!

Good evening friends! I thought I stop in and see what's going on before I crash for the night. I've been inside all day cleaning, cooking and doing projects. It sure made to a very quick day, that's for sure.

I am so excited about this week coming up, it's the last week in August and then we are back in the ber's. Oh Yes! Sooooo, looking forward to the cooler Fall temperatures.

woke up to a big bang this morning at 5 am as a thunderstorm rolled through., so much for another 1/2 hour of sleep.
Off to look after Layla before taking her to horse riding camp for the day and then I have a cake to bake and decorate.

We had more storms overnight, and they were loud.
But we need the rain, so I can't complain.
It was sure hard to get out of bed this morning, though.
