Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning, everyone!

It's a hot one. We're already nearing 100F with humidex. I had planned to go for a running workout early this morning, but I couldn't get out of bed. I think I will have to wait until the sun goes down this evening. There will likely still be humidity, but at least there won't be a boiling hot sun.

Thus far, I have a teaching interview today at 3:30, tomorrow at 10:30 am, and then on Friday morning at 10:30. Hopefully, more interviews arise in the near future, too! It's a busy week. I will be starting my sixth year of teaching, so it's about time I started receiving more offers to have my own classroom for an entire semester! ...and to teach English rather than Math.

Other than my interview, I believe Kim and I will be going to the grocery store as well... she's been off for the past two weeks, too, which has been quite nice around the house.

It's great to see the Countdown to Christmas Day nearing in on single digits. As well, we're now closer to two months than three months from the Christmas Season. The times keep moving so fast!

Good Tuesday morning! We'll have a couple of unbearable, sticky, humid days still. It's already 35°C/95°F with the humidex. I keep hoping for a long-term cool down but then the humidity goes right back up. I'm buying ice cream today for sure and will try to stay cool. I have the day off but as always there's tons of things to do. I worked 12 hours yesterday trying to get things done. I expect the remaining 3 days this week before my vacation will all be 12-hour days or more. Hope everyone will have a nice day today!

Happy Tuesday!!
I was not able to log on the past couple of days, we were at the beach on Sunday and then yesterday I took my youngest daughter school shopping and then we had her open house at school with a soccer scrimmage in between.
My daughter really liked her all her teachers and they completely renovated the school, it is beautiful so nice and bright!
Then my washing machine went yesterday, looks like it was the pump and motor so I stopped and picked out a new one but it doesn't come until next week so I may have to take a trip the laundromat or go to a friend's house.
Back to work today and my kids start school tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the washing machine SFM. I’m sure I would make a trip to the laundromat as well in the mean time, crazy how fast the clothes pile up!

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I've been a member here for a while, but rarely post. I've been in the spirit lately (although to be honest, it never leaves me) so I thought I would check in! Hope everyone is hanging in there in this heat! It's 35 here in Ottawa (95f)

Pumpkin Spice Latte is back today at Starbucks and I desperately want one.. but it is far too hot.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of when we had to say goodbye to our Gracie Girl (right about this time of the day last year ) - and then it's also our Lucy's "gotcha day! Bittersweet day!

Merry Tuesday!!

Some work for me today, with an afternoon of appointments.

It’s still very humid here, but the strong storms have brought the temperature down.
My family and friends in La Crosse have it much worse though, please keep the community in your thoughts and prayers as they clean up.
Both my sister, and my folks have significant water in their basements. But are okay, most importantly!
It’s especially sad to see all of the animals affected.

I know many of the roads are still closed, and they’re trying to rescue a lot of livestock. I’m praying they are able to get them all to safety.

I’m hoping everyone stays safe and that they are able to keep the damage to a minimum and to save their livestock.

Happy Hot Tuesday MMC! August is going out with a lot of heat and humidity here. Felt really sick last night and slept a full 8 hours. Feel better today although still not feeling hungry. Threw out half my dinner last night which never really happens. Have a great 2nd day of the week!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday MMC!
It’s going to be hot and humid today with a high of 90 degrees. I have to run a couple of quick errands this morning. Back home afterward to work on chores. I will be going to my daughters apartment again later this morning, she’s having her TV, phone and internet hooked up. They gave her an 11-2 time frame which isn’t bad. I’m going to grab something for lunch and head over there to sit with her so she isn’t alone. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Staff meeting is over, now I have to get a few things done before I leave for a funeral. It's church-family, and they've been close friends for years.

We had started a plan to have dinner with Jacob in the city he lives in once a week on Thursday, to make sure we stay in touch. He told us that was a great idea!...just not this week. He's too busy with his 3 month dating anniversary with is girlfriend. He'll get back to us on it. LOL

It was extra steamy yesterday!! I'm freezing in the office today, so not sure what it's like outside, but the prediction is for more of the same steamy w/ a high of 88!!
It was a wonderful weekend. We didn't do the bicycle poker run as it was pouring down rain!! It sounds like there were a lot of bicycles out later in the afternoon, but we weren't in the mood anymore. I was so tired after being up with mom several times overnight Friday!!

I hope it is comfortable feeling for you now! Steamy one minute and freezing the next has got to be so uncomfortable!

It is very steamy out here right now, but even with no air conditioner or fan on, I'm comfortable in the house. Gotta love a cement block house ~ keeps things rather cool inside as long as I keep the windows closed and the shades down.

I'm sorry you and your mom had a rough Friday night, but very glad you had a wonderful weekend!

Any news from Anne? I pray she is all is well with her!
