Happy Labor Day MMC! The unofficial end of summer is today. Just hard to believe still but it will feel a lot like summer most of this week. Highs in the high 80s to low 90s most of this week. Friday into the weekend looks cooler than that with highs in the 70s. Meeting up with coworkers for breakfast this morning and then a BBQ later today with the family. Have a great Labor Day!

It’s going to be sunny and warm today, perfect day for a barbecue. The girls will all be here with their fiancés/boyfriends. My parents are heading over as well. I have lots to do so I’m going to get started as soon as I finish my cup of coffee. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Henry's team won the football game. We won 13-6. The whole team played well, and Henry scored our 1 point conversion on one of the touchdowns, and made some really important tackles on defense.

Good morning, y'all! Yesterday was amazing. Got a lot done, took a nap, sit on the deck and watched the girls play in water, and ate with my family. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Not a big day today. I got a little bit of work to do outside today, but most of the day will be spent doing nothing. Doc and I are hoping we get to watch a movie or something. Other than that, today will be a day to just relax. Y'all enjoy!

I asked my aunt last week if she wanted to cook out today and she said no. She just wanted to take it easy. Then at 9 o’clock last night she called and said her neighbor had called and wanted to know what time lunch was today. So now we are cooking out, which of course, I was totally unprepared for. So it’s been a mad dash trying to get stuff ready this morning. On the bright side, Big Lots was stocking even more Christmas stuff when I stopped to get 2-liters this morning!!! I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Thank you! We spend our vacations in Seaside. It's amazing to see the transformation from Sandy and the fire. It was very relaxing. Now we are trying to get Carolina in the swing of going back to school.

Have never been there but hoping to one summer. Wildwood is our normal shore spot. Yeah my kids are not trilled with the back to school routines either lol.

Good news. Kim and I heard our first Christmas song of the (pre?) season in a store today. We were in Herb & Spice, a small local store where you can purchase healthy foods, spices, and other items in bulk. The store was playing a 60s music station when all of a sudden, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Darlene Love began playing. Not being Christmas, Kim and I thought they would change the station. Instead, they let the song play through. It was great!

I'll be the first to admit, it was super early and I will look forward to when I actually hear Christmas music everywhere I go. Until then, I will remember this joyous occasion!

We're so close to those 60s, friends.

We got back from the shore around 10 last night and I was totally unpacked by 11. I like to unpack as soon as we get home so I can let Mikes grandma know if we left anything behind. Our last day was just spent relaxing and just hanging out. This morning I have work and then after work we have a first birthday party for a former coworkers son.

It’s still warm & humid here, and the rain continues. But when I was driving home from my hometown yesterday, it looked like the beginning of Fall. A few trees are starting to turn, and the corn is tall. Harvest season!

Not too much going on here today, it will just be a day spent relaxing with my family. My oldest and youngest are both coming over. The girls and I will be going over the details of my oldest daughters bridal shower. We will be ordering the invitations as well, I have to get them in the mail soon. The Meg was a decent movie, nothing special but decent. It will not go down as a classic like the original Jaws.

Merry Monday. Almost time to get back into the swing of things. Take the FIL out for lunch as it's his birthday. Have a few people coming over for a supper meeting because a holiday Monday was the only time the schedules would be open. So, the day will be spent scurrying around, cleaning, cooking, and enjoying company.

I've already transitioned into fall prep. Yesterday was cranberry pot roast dinner, and I've picked up some canned pumpkin. I'll make a pumpkin dessert for tonight. I just haven't figured out which yet. It'll come to me.

The pot roast is super simple too. In your slow cooker, sprinkle the bottom with a package of dry onion soup mix. Place your roast on top, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and then spread a can of cranberry sauce over the roast. I used whole cranberry sauce, but either will work. Add about 1/4 cup of water. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours, or low for 8. Once done, remove the roast to rest. Dissolve one tablespoon of cornstarch in water and add that to the roast drippings. Stir and continue cooking until thickened. Slice the roast and serve with the sauce. Heavenly and delicious.

Happy Labor Day!!

Hope you’re all having a nice day, spent with those you hold dear.

Yesterday was a productive day at my sisters house. We got just about everything moved out of her basement, and the carpet ripped up. Baseboards removed, as well. We started a trailer ready for the dumpster, as some of the furniture already has mold growing. She will need a remediation company to come in. She plans to order tile for the basement, as soon as the mold remediation is done, and the drywall has been replaced as needed.
The rain still continues there. And their beaver system is getting worse. Fingers crossed the company can get out there soon to patch it and they may even need to replace some of the mechanisms. A brand new system is out of the question right now, as it’s insanely expensive.

This afternoon we are grilling out with some of our friends, and plan to relax tonight by watching another episode of Ozark.
