Good Monday morning! I'm thankful to have the day off after such a busy weekend at work and a bad night's sleep. David and I were sound asleep when he got a text message from his boss asking him for help in translating something to English (nothing work related). It was only 9:30pm, no big deal, but I couldn't fall back asleep after that and wound up going back to bed at 12:30am only and getting up at 6am as usual. I will just relax and propably have a nap later today. David has an appointment with a surgeon this morning to determine if he will have to have an operation to repair the torn ligaments in his shoulder. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he won't need it. Have a great day everyone!

Enjoy your day off Martine. I hope you’re able to nap and catch up on some sleep. And I hope David’s appointment goes well!
xx

Good Morning, Milestone Thresholders.

Yep, we are now on the doorstep of yet another marker, as we close in on our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season.

The latest data, to start the new week:
Days to the Season: 50
Days to Christmas Day: 92

And the doorstep we stand upon?
Well, it's the 3/4 point to Christmas Day 2018.
When does it arrive?
TOMORROW, Folks!

Well it cooled off for yesterday, and today has started off rather coolish too, at 66 degrees, as we begin a day predicted to be in the upper 70's with a 60 percent chance of precipitation.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!
I was 50/50 with the NFL games yesterday. The Panthers won but the Packers lost.
How did your teams do?

Patriots lost...not sure what is going on with them this season. I'm sure playing Matt Patricia's team last night didnt help since he knows the Patriots weaknesses. My dad was happy though since the Eagles won even though it was kind of sloppy according to him

Merry Monday!! Looks like we will only have a high of 65. Typical work day for me and then I have to run some errands. Hope you all have a great day!

Cannot believe only 3 months until Christmas Eve!! I need to listen to some Christmas music today.

Thanks Crown! We are 3 months till Christmas Eve!

Good morning .. Concert last night was awesome. Lady Antebellum was great but Darius Rucker hands down rocked that show. I would love to see him again. We didn't get home until midnight and DH had to be at work at 7 this morning so I know he will be tired when he gets home. I have a big batch of apple butter going in the crockpot. Going to can a few jars for us and the rest will be canned and given as Christmas gifts. Weather is very fall like this weekend, nice cool temps with a nice breeze.
How fun!! I love them both!

Good morning, everyone!

Schools are closed today in Ottawa. Three tornadoes touched down within a 25-kilometre (17-mile) radius of my home on Friday. We were without power for 26 hours. About 10,000 others were without power for 50+ hours while about 3000 are still waiting for their power to return. My school board sent an email yesterday telling everyone to be safe and stay home until they can assess the damages today. Apparently, a tornado hasn't touched down in Ottawa since 1894. Crazy stuff! About 25 houses or so were completely ruined and a couple dozen more have extensive damage. All is fine in my neighbourhood.

In other news, the Army Run was yesterday. I ran the 10km race and came 9th out of about 7000 people and set a personal best time of the past 15 years of 37:26. I was amazed that the organizers were able to keep everything going with all the distractions. I believe about 40,000+ people raced in four different races.

Lastly, Kim and I celebrated our first anniversary yesterday! We had a delicious dinner and had some champagne when we returned home. It was a nice, quiet celebration with Simon. We purchased each other gifts of tickets for different events. Kim bought me two tickets to so the LA Kings (my favourite hockey team) play the Ottawa Senators here in Ottawa on Saturday, October 13th. The tickets are right beside the Kings bench! I bought Kim two tickets to see The Nutcracker on Friday, November 30th! We're both excited for the events!

Well, that's about it. How about that Milestone tomorrow? And, you know what could be following that Milestone? I'm so excited! The Most Wonderful TIme of the Year is soooooooo close!!

Good Morning, MMC!! I hope everyone had a good weekend!!! Mine was spent watching racing and enjoying the beautiful weather. That beautiful weather is gone now though with rain today and thunderstorms tomorrow. Not to much on my agenda today. I’ve already got my chores done and now I’m sitting here thinking I should go check and see if my Walmart has there Christmas stuff out yet or not. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Absolutely insane damage. I'm very thankful that I only lost some food and did not have any actual damage. Could have been a lot worse for sure!

Happy New Week!

A BUSY weekend, getting errands done and working on personal projects with pre-Christmas deadlines ... I didn't get enough weekend. And not enough sleep last night. A next-door neighbor has some new security lights that glare right into our bedroom window until midnight. We're going to have to ask her to reset the timer to shut them off earlier, or move them. And, sadly, an aunt phoned me from Maryland to tell me that another of my aunts had passed away last Tuesday, but no one thought to call me until she did.

But the happy part of the weekend was going to Lowes and stocking up on GE Christmas lights. Nice, fresh stock to put on the tree this year!

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!! Hubby and I got a lot of work done around the house and even made a 4 ft tall fall snoopy yard sign! My father in law came over and helped us cut it out with a jig saw and then I spent all day yesterday painting and sealing it :) . We also got a lot of house work done which felt great, everything is sparkly and clean for the new season! Yesterday was my friends birthday so we put on some head lamps and went late night roller blading then went to the local diner after for a big bowl of chili, it was fantastic. Even though it has still been in the mid 90's all week the humidity is definitely dropping so it is finally starting to feel a bit like fall! Hope you all have a great week!!! Don't forget the halloween baking championship starts tonight on food network!

Thank you, SnowDog. So soon after losing Gloria, it's even sadder.

The new lights will probably look a lot like the old ones! But I'll try to take a photo to post. I usually string the lights the afternoon before Thanksgiving when I get home early (fingers crossed) from work. Then after Thanksgiving I decorate the tree at leisure.

I have some work to do before I string the lights: I usually replace all the purple bulbs with white ones. The mix of colored and white bulbs is really beautiful. I bought a couple strings of white so I could use the bulbs.

Thank you, I hope so! We're going to speak to the neighbor today. She's a nice person and should be reasonable about it.

I'm so happy you got some good news!!

Thank you, Brad!

Thank you ~ a merry Friday to you, too!
Praying for your mom! {{{HUGS}}}
The chipmunks are adorable! I love to sit out on the patio and watch them when they are chasing each other up and down the pine trees. :)
Thank you ~ the research went better the last time. The organizing went great, although there is still a lot to do.

It is a neat thing! Palmer is fine now ~ she is staring at me as I type this. :)
Chipster is a very inquisitive, friendly little guy ~ and a cutie, too! He is also very good at warning the other animals about the occasional hawk or eagle that flies overhead. :)
That does sound sweet :)

Glad that the research went better, and the organizing went well too!

Chipster (love his name!) sounds like quite a curious and helpful guy, bless his heart.

Good morning, just wanted to say Hello!
39 degrees here (and rain) Brrr...
Thought I would lit the fireplace, but I think I have to go back to bed instead
My heated bed, with my book and some painkillers
I have a cold with everything that comes with that...

Hope YOU are having a better day than I am :D

Good Morning, Solice~
Hope you are feeling much better today <3
Stay cozy and get plenty of rest!
{{{hugs}}}

I hope everyone had a great day! It's chilly and rainy tonight. I am relaxing with a book and a blanket. We went to Barnes and Noble tonight since it was 20% off weekend for memebers. They were already starting to set up tables for the little boxed calendars. They had a few tables of scary books out but nothing really stood out for us to buy. The last trip there I spent close to $50 mostly on books for Carolina.
I hope everyone had a great weekend

That sounds like a cozy night! Hope you enjoyed~

Good morning ~
Merry Monday!
It’s going to be cloudy with chance of a shower later in the day and a high of 67 degrees. Not too much going on here. I’m just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes before I get started on cooking breakfast. I need to make a Target run at some point. I want to stop at Michael’s as well to pick up a couple of things for the bridal shower. Other than that I will be working on the laundry. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!!!
xx
Happy Monday, HmG~
Hope your errands go well, and that you have a great start to your week!
Have a great day!

Glad both of you are safe and sound. I saw the images on the news, such devastation. Hard to believe it happened here in Canada. Hope everyone affected will get all the support they need quickly.
