Good afternoon all my Christmas loving friends!
Thanksgiving weekend is coming up here in Canada, all the usual turkey and trimmings is on the menu!

Happy Tuesday! I am finally off tomorrow so I don't know what we will do. It's cool here again tonight but we have the air on because it just isn't comfortable to sleep. I hope everyone had a great day

What a sad 30 hours it has been....

Got a call late yesterday afternoon that 4 of our students were involved in a shooting. Spurred our district leadership team into high swing as we started piecing together what happened, who was impacted, and how to best set up school for the day. That took us through about 11:00 last night, then we hit the door early this morning. School assembly, counseling, visits with police, parents, etc...

I'm drained.

I've never been as sad as I am, now. You get attached to these kids, love on them, try to help them....and when they start shooting at each other, you are exactly sure how to respond.

I don't know who you talk to when you go to bed at night, but if you don't mind...say an prayer for ol'Ballcoach's kids. Some of them are in a really sad spot.

Oh, Coach, I am so sorry. Your kids as well as you and all affected will be in my prayers. {{{HUGS}}}

Good morning Merry October!
I can't believe we are in October already!? Wow!!
Winter is coming, and we are expecting the first snow any day now.

I have not been feeling so good the last six months
Tried some new medizine (for my chronic migraine/headaches)
but they just got me extremely tired and depressed
I spend almost all summer in bed.
So I'm off any medications, which I like best.
(but i
I just have to learn to live with the pain I guess.
I definitely don't want to try any more meds..

Today it's sunny and 33 F, and I hope to get out in the woods later this afternoon.
I always feel good out in the nature. Best medicine, and with no side effects!

But I have missed you guys. And I miss beeing here daily.
You are always in my thoughts and prayers
I will now, try to catch-up here!

Spotted my first Christmas billboard of the season on the morning drive to work. It was a Stella Rosa ad encouraging us to "Stellabrate all season long." There was a purple snow ornament in the lower left corner and a bottle of product taking up 20% of the board's right side. However, it was far too early in the day to follow their advice.

...especially if you were driving to work! That is fascinating. I want to see that billboard!

@ballcoach So sorry to hear that you've had to deal with a shooting. I could imagine that it's all too real when it hits home. From one teacher to another, thank you for being strong and discussing it with your students. These, indeed, are our kids and they need to be treated with honesty. Thank you.

Good Pines Day! Still mild here after some rain last night. We have rain it seems every Tuesday. Should be a nicer day today. We're having a bbq at work tomorrow so that should be different. For today, just a normal Mid-Week. Have a good one!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Nancy and I went to meet Jacob for dinner last night, and it was great! We usually meet him on Thursday, but he had other plans. We were lucky he found time for us, I guess. Of course, we were holding his monthly allowance, too.

While we were in Statesboro, Nancy and I bought some paint for the front porch. It looks like she might help me paint!

Tonight she has bible club at church so while I am waiting for her I will probably read and try to make a good dent in the book I am currently reading since Elin Hilderbrands new Christmas book comes out on Tuesday

Good Morning, Mid-Week Pines Piners!
Yep.
Pines Day has again cycled around.

Our count keeps cycling as well.
Here is the latest:
Days to Halloween: 28 (Four weeks from today!)
Days to the Season: 41 (Under six weeks remain!)
Days to Christmas Day: 83 (Under twelve weeks left!)
(Time is marching on, Guys.)

And what is only a very short march ahead, is the Ninety Percent, Home Stretch Milestone marker to Christmas Season 2018.
It's now only 4 days away, and closing fast.
Barely over HALF A WEEK!

Another nice day yesterday lead to comfortable lawn mowing.
Today will see warmer temps and the humidity just beginning to build back in.
For now, we are starting off at 71 degrees here in the middle part of the state.

The Pines? Being decorated for fall.
Carl? Ready at the door, as aways.
The fired twinkies? Hot out of the oven.
The iced tea? Sweetened to perfection.
The enterainment? Well......come and judge for yourselves.

We had a wild storm pass through last night, the national weather service confirmed that a tornado actually touched down on part of the island. We woke up to beautiful morning, it’s going to be partly sunny with a high of 75 degrees. Typical day of errands and chores plus more bridal shower shopping, things are really picking up now as it gets closer. No complaining though, it’s the best kind of busy!

It is finally starting to feel a little more like fall in here in SE Georgia. Drier air is coming around more often, making for a deeper blue sky and for windows to be open. I always feel like this part of fall never lasts long enough.
