Christmas Countdown - 2018

[Holiday]

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

All this talk of snow! It's no where near snowing in south Georgia, but it WAS 55° Saturday morning! I could hold my breath for a few seconds and let it out slowly, and I could see my breath!! Now that tickled me LOL.

I worked most of the day Saturday cleaning up limbs from the storm. The scale at the landfill said I left 3/4 of a ton, and I have that much more to take. I spent the rest of the day working on props for Elizabeth's upcoming play at school. I have a few more days of work to do on that.

It's supposed to be up around 90°F for a few days, then down to the 70's for the weekend. Come on Friday!!

Merry Monday! Typical work day for me and my daughter has a soccer game and my other one has her first basketball practice. Looks like a dreary day but def fall temps. I heard we may get our first freeze on Thursday night. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Monday morning! I'm enjoying this extra day off, it feels good not going into work on a Monday. I'll be doing some cooking and cleaning today and some online shopping to compare prices on Winter tires. We're due for new ones, the traction on our old ones wasn't the best last Winter. I also am looking for DIY Halloween costume ideas online. Time is running out fast. Hope everyone will have a great day!

Good Morning, MMC!! We are off to a rainy start but the sun should come out this afternoon. Just some errands for me today. Then tonight we are supposed to get our first freeze. So I guess I’ll have to close the windows finally. It’s been nice being able to leave them open at night. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

I saw some pictures from Snowflake and it looked beautiful!! I’m totally jealous. It looks like we may see some next weekend though.

I finished "Winter Solstice", Saturday morning. I will be interested in some feedback when you wrap up your journey through the quadrilogy.

We had a Sunday morning snow shower that frosted roofs and brightly colored leaves. It was all gone by 1:00, as is proper in mid - October.

Sounds beautiful!! I do like to look out the window when it's nice 'n toasty inside & see frost on the neighbors rooftops! So cozy! Ready or not...

I should go ahead & order Winter Storms so I have it waiting when I finish Winter Stroll. LOL!
I also just noticed she has a book "Christmas In Nantucket" Oh wait - I just read the reviews & there are many that say it's the same book as "Winter Stroll" under a different name. Bummer!

Good afternoon everyone! It is a damp rainy chilly day today. I have the windows open but may actually have to close them, much to the dismay of five curious felines who love to sit in the window in the cold air and watch the leaves blow! It's a good day for some comfort food, so I will bake some breaded chicken and make fried potatoes and some vegetable to go with it. Last night my husband found me drawing a diagram of the living room and dining room area and I was able to convince him that I could indeed fit in the last two 4 foot trees that we have purchased on clearance but never put up. He reluctantly agreed so I am super excited today and already working on what decorations and/or themes I will use for them! (That makes a total of 9 trees in various sizes...which is so exciting to think about!) Doesn't take much to make me happy I guess! I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Merry Monday!

Fall has definitely arrived in mid-Michigan. The leaves are falling off the trees fast and furious and there is going to be a freeze tonight. I didn't cover the peppers or the tomatillos as it is very windy out ~ hopefully they'll survive the night/early morning!

Good morning MMC! Monday already!!! We start today off with 53º & misting rain!! We have a freeze warning for tonight! Brrrrrrr!!! 53 is also the predicted high, so this afternoon temps are supposed to start dropping. Brrrrrrr!! Might have to break down & turn the furnace on at home. Right now the 2 fireplaces are keeping it toasty!
We did turn the furnace on at the lake this weekend & guess what - it doesn't work!! It got chilly in there! It worked Friday night/Saturday but by Saturday night, it was blowing cold air! Our local handy man just happened to drive by yesterday - he stopped in & is supposed to get the part we need delivered today! Hopefully by the weekend, we'll have heat! xx We are supposed to have chilly (freezing) nights next weekend too!

Merry Monday! It was just a boring work day for me. When I got home we pulled out and started washing all the fall clothes. Now we are just relaxing and watching a Christmas episode of Home Improvement. I hope you all have a great night
