Christmas Countdown - 2018

Every year right around the time of our towns Halloween parade they start to put up the Christmas lights. The past few years we just had lighted Christmas shapes on the telephone poles. Last year they started stringing lightest garland across the road to make it more festive. Yesterday morning they started hanging the garland at like 1am so it was done before everyone was out on the road traveling. Constantly on Facebook in our town's page were negative comments about how it's a waste of the taxpayer money to put them up this early and that it looks ridiculous. It's been a tradition for our town since the 1950s to have the lights up for the Halloween parade. It makes it feel festive and gears everyone up for the Holidays. I dont understand why people have to constantly complain about it

I’m just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. I need to get moving soon. I have to tidy up the house and start laundry. I’ll be heading to the mall later this morning to do some shopping. I’m meeting up with my mother for lunch. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. Dinner will be chicken cacciatore & pasta. That’s about it. Hope everyone is well. Really closing in as today's numbers will reveal.

Days to Halloween: 13 (Now UNDER 2 weeks!)
Days to the Season: 26 (Two days under the 4 week mark!)
Days to Christmas Day: 69 (Down into the 60's!)
We are relentlessly advancing. There's no turning back now.
(Not that there ever was.)

The weather has again taken a cool turn and it's a bit nippy here this morning, at 54 degrees. Today will see a high only in the low 60's, with 41 predicted for tonight, as summer is rapidly becoming a memory.
It's clear and sunny though, with a zero percent chance of rain.

Im still tired after a weekend in Scotland
But, had a lovely time there ofc
Also visited the Dunnottar Castle (I love castles)

I also bought a bunch of Christmas cards for this years Christmas Cards Exchange. Cant wait to sit down and write them ♥

Busy morning here, with kids getting ready for school
So I have a five minute break here with my coffee
listening to Christmas music coming from the kitchen radio

My son (one of my twins, soon to be fifthteen) also loves Christmas
as much as I do. He decorated his room with christmas lights last month
And everytime I hear that he plays Christmas music it puts a smile on my face ♥

The best time is now! So we better enjoy it.
Because before we know it, it's January!

People always have something to complain about...and our town FB pages are the same way. Someone is always upset about something..lol

Good Morning, MMC!!! It’s supposed to be a beautiful day here with a high in the upper 50’s. There’s a heavy frost out there right now though. I have some projects to work on today along with my normal chores. I might go visit with Ella too. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good Morning. I walked out the door this morning with just a t-shirt on, and oh yea, it was just a tad bit chilly out there. I didn't see any frost, but whoa, what a difference in the temperature.

I'm home today as I have been since Tuesday afternoon, I was feeling really bad, and I was in so much pain Tuesday in my abdomen, while at work, that I called my wife, because I thought I was going to pass out. I was shaking, white as a ghost, sweating profusely (it was dripping off my hair) my clothes were wet with sweat and I was slurring my words. She came and picked me up at work because I didn't want to go in an ambulance and she took me to the emergency room. I'm home, feeling a bit better now, but I am still sore, still feeling some minor pain and not yet feeling 100% of my old self. I've been resting, using a heating pad and just tryin not to overdo things.

I'm getting ready to rest now because I'm sore.

Good morning MMC! Another quick check in from me. I'm hoping to catch up b/f I head to job #2 but I'm not sure if it will happen!!!
It's a beautiful, crisp, sunshiny/no wind morning!! Frost on the rooftops! Love it!
Not much up for me today besides work & the grocery store...
I went to the lake last night & turned on the furnace & warm air came out of our vents. YAY!! Furnace is fixed!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

It sounds like all of us are enjoying cooler weather! I wouldn't call it chilly, but it's still in the low 60's. That's wonderful!!

We took Jacob to dinner last night, then he took us to the grocery store so we could re-stock his refrigerator. What? That boy's got it made in the shade.

Sigh ... I am not patiently waiting for our first frost as I am hoping it will help kill whatever it is that is triggering my allergies. Plus the first frost makes it feel more the holidays are that much closer

Today was our second frost & so far, no relief from my allergies... BUT the farmers are still in the fields, corn is not all off...so it will be a bit yet for me!

Good afternoon everyone! My husband and I took a drive into Amish country today. Such beautiful scenery. We went to a farmer's market and picked up apples, onions, homemade noodles, some yummy baked goods, and lots of cheese. We also picked up 4 pie pumpkins to roast tonight to add to our freezer. Plus, since it has been so cold here, we picked up 3 white pumpkins that we will turn into a snowman for our Christmas decorations. We have only been able to do this one other year because the temps are usually too warm and the pumpkins rot before Christmas. But, with this cold weather, I am pretty confident that we can save them and create an adorable snowman out of them! I hope everyone has a great day!

[Holiday]

So, I got some wood put aside for the fire pit this weekend, hoping we get to roast marshmallows this Saturday. There is a change we will get to mid-30's Saturday night...which I'm fine with. I'm really ready for yard season to be over.

Looking forward to tomorrow night...Charlie Brown and Toy Story of Terror comes on and I can't wait to watch with girls. We are going watch and eat pizza....almost a perfect night.

I didn't realize Toy Story is on too. Awesome!!!
