Christmas Countdown - 2018

Every year right around the time of our towns Halloween parade they start to put up the Christmas lights. The past few years we just had lighted Christmas shapes on the telephone poles. Last year they started stringing lightest garland across the road to make it more festive. Yesterday morning they started hanging the garland at like 1am so it was done before everyone was out on the road traveling. Constantly on Facebook in our town's page were negative comments about how it's a waste of the taxpayer money to put them up this early and that it looks ridiculous. It's been a tradition for our town since the 1950s to have the lights up for the Halloween parade. It makes it feel festive and gears everyone up for the Holidays. I dont understand why people have to constantly complain about it

Happy Thursday! Typical day of work for me and it is so chilly out there!! My daughter has softball practice tonight and my husband is working late. I am making baked chicken, roasted potatoes and broccoli for dinner. Hope you all have a great day!!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It’s supposed to be a beautiful day here with a high in the upper 50’s. There’s a heavy frost out there right now though. I have some projects to work on today along with my normal chores. I might go visit with Ella too. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good Morning. I walked out the door this morning with just a t-shirt on, and oh yea, it was just a tad bit chilly out there. I didn't see any frost, but whoa, what a difference in the temperature.

I'm home today as I have been since Tuesday afternoon, I was feeling really bad, and I was in so much pain Tuesday in my abdomen, while at work, that I called my wife, because I thought I was going to pass out. I was shaking, white as a ghost, sweating profusely (it was dripping off my hair) my clothes were wet with sweat and I was slurring my words. She came and picked me up at work because I didn't want to go in an ambulance and she took me to the emergency room. I'm home, feeling a bit better now, but I am still sore, still feeling some minor pain and not yet feeling 100% of my old self. I've been resting, using a heating pad and just tryin not to overdo things.

I'm getting ready to rest now because I'm sore.

Well, I just got word from job #2 that I don't have to be there until this afternoon - so I can hang out a bit longer. YAY!

It sounds like all of us are enjoying cooler weather! I wouldn't call it chilly, but it's still in the low 60's. That's wonderful!!

We took Jacob to dinner last night, then he took us to the grocery store so we could re-stock his refrigerator. What? That boy's got it made in the shade.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I've really been working hard this week. Most of the other admin staff has been out for varying reasons, so I've been scooting from one desk to another, trying to make sure something doesn't fall through the cracks.

I also found out yesterday that there been some water damage at my mom's vacation home. She spoke to a contractor, then she asked me to handle it. It's 300 miles away! It looks like I may have to take a couple days off to inspect the damage and approve whatever corrective action is needed. We'll see what happens.

Other than that, it's still hot here (75°F at 7:30 this morning), but hopefully this is summer's last gasp.

There is possible snow in the forecast tonight for the first time this fall! Looks like it's due to hit just in time for the 5pm commute, so that should be a fun drive home from the office.

Today was our second frost & so far, no relief from my allergies... BUT the farmers are still in the fields, corn is not all off...so it will be a bit yet for me!

I think we will have the heat on tomorrow night. I like it cold to sleep but everyone else likes it warm at my house so I will have to have my fan on full blast. Stay warm!

Yeah I love to sleep when the room is chilly/cold. My mother lives with us, she has health issues and can't handle the cold too good. We have separate heating/ac system for upstairs and downstairs so I only turned on the one downstairs since that is where my mom's bedroom is. The rest of us sleep upstairs and I have not turned that heater on yet.

Good afternoon ... Lows this morning were hovering around 41. One of my son's friends who walks to our house in the morning came over without a jacket this morning and the poor thing was cold. He left his in the locker at school so I gave one of my son's extra jackets to wear. These below normal temps have me really thinking more about Thanksgiving and Christmas then Halloween

I also bought a bunch of Christmas cards for this years Christmas Cards Exchange. Cant wait to sit down and write them ♥

Busy morning here, with kids getting ready for school
So I have a five minute break here with my coffee
listening to Christmas music coming from the kitchen radio

My son (one of my twins, soon to be fifthteen) also loves Christmas
as much as I do. He decorated his room with christmas lights last month
And everytime I hear that he plays Christmas music it puts a smile on my face ♥

The best time is now! So we better enjoy it.
Because before we know it, it's January!
